i mean the story element

everything i loved about the god of war series is cause Kratos was a true anti-hero

it was so amazing to play through the game and see a man use nothing but rage and fury to take down literal Gods, like that shyt was motivating as a man just the story and the shyt he did

now he has some cac kid following him, why? not to mention his old family completely ignored and forgotten after all he went thru to atone for what he did

and based on trailers and shyt kratos personality is completely different

this game to me is santa monica doing the most, trying to give kratos "depth" and to make storyline thats centered on kratos' emotions and how kratos learns to love that little cac along the way.

Playing like a mix of Dark Souls and Bayonetta, you’ll find yourself constantly dodge-rolling and attempting to parry enemy attacks, as opposed to the God of War of yesteryear, where players simply sprinted around the battlefield joyously juggling ten foes across their spinning blades.

That’s not to say that combat isn’t fun — it just has a very different cadence to what came before. Once it clicks, however, it produces some of the most satisfying virtual combat in recent memory.
God of War's combat is already great at the start, but it gets better as it steadily introduces one new layer after another. You can absolutely stumble into incredibly punishing enemies that are made easier with adept timing and mastery of every available skill, but you can also succeed at any level so long as you've mastered the art of parrying and dodging incoming attacks.

and the gameplay never got old

i stopped playing last of us mid game couldnt get into it shyt wasnt enjoyable at all thats a major reason im so salty


they turned kratos into another damn babysitter

i watched the first boss battle that some dude leaked, i had hope that maybe its just the look that they changed but the gameplay would be similar but this is really is a completely different game from the previous titles, 100%

This game is nothing like The Last of Us. One of the reviewers from Skillup said he didn't even really like TLOU and he LOVES GOW PS4. The kid isn't there for escorting purposes. The gameplay again I heard is VERY deep and nuanced and really really good. Most of the praise I've seen mentions that almost everything shown is very early stuff hence why you don't see much going on cept for some swinging and slashing. They mention the feel and weight of the axe as well as the combo's and things you can pull off make it very satisfying. hell the gifs I posted show some of that.
This review sold me. he said he doesn't like TLOU much as a game.

"Uncharted, TLOU and Horizon Zero Dawn.. This game has the best things that those games have all in one package but as a VIDEO GAME with video game mechanics this game is worlds apart from those other 3." or something like that.
