Goff played terribly against Washington, but he's taken the Lions further than they've ever been in modern times. Back-to-back deep playoff runs haven't happened for the Lions in decades, and they just had their best regular season ever. Goff deserves all the money the Lions are paying him, IMO. Goff has been the best quarterback in a Lions uniform since, like Bobby Lane. We also can't forget the fact that no one even expected the Lions to be as good as they are now when Goff got traded there. He's helped the Lions a lot

The Rams sucked for over a dozen years before Goff helped restore relevancy. The Lions sucked forever with the alleged "great QB" McVay replaced him with, until Goff showed up...
Most QBs are average without strong support. Goff's track record spans two locations and two coaches and two systems. Variety of different skill talent around him, the receivers he had in LA weren't special. But Goff was the QB...
Yall gotta stop undervaluing the role he's played in his team's successes...

Goff helped the Rams but there’s a ceiling with him; it’s always better to replace sooner than later. Hence the SB win.
The Lions were able to rebuild due to change in ownership/inheritance, hiring the right GM, HC, execs, getting a haul for Stafford, drafting Sewell, Amon-Ra, Gibbs, JaMo, and Hutchinson.

That’s such a low bar lol. The past two seasons speaks more to how bad the Lions have been.
Yeah nobody is saying Goff is a scrub. The problem is he’s heavily reliant on supporting skill players and with his new extension it will cripple the Lions ability to keep elite skill players.

How can the Lions score 45 points if Goff turns the ball over 4 times?
