We had no Chance before, I mean the contract is more than what he should be getting but its 3 more seasons after this one so I'm not worried, We have two top 3 pics in the next two years and a bunch of bargain contracts in our payroll so the Horford deal is not gonna cripple us for years. I rather this Al Horford Deal than what the Lakers are Giving Luol Deng ($72 Million) and Timothy Mozgov ($64 Million) That's $136 Million or Chandler Parsons $95 Million over 4 years. Only Players making over $9 Million on our payroll are Horford and Amir Johnson and Amir comes off the books next year only other team with fewer players making under $10 Million are the Sixers and they suck, We still have $40+ Million in cap space next season and we getting Markelle Fultz /Lonzo Ball or Josh Jackson in the Draft, not gonna put us over the top right away but they're good building blocks on a affordable rookie contract.

Why can't we grab a Demarcus cousin type of player now? Matter of fact We can still grab two of those, one sign straight up and one through trade. No matter how you slice it, the Hordford contract is not good but is not franchise crippling. We'll be okay. We have 10 players already under contract for next year not including the rookies that are gonna play for a small fraction of our cap.

Basically our rotation except for Avery Bradley(whom we can go over the cap to retain or trade) is under contract for next year Horford/Thomas/Crowder/Rozier/Brown/Smart

We have the best chances at landing the #1 pick for the next 2 years and add young and upcoming stars for cheap(yeah Brooklyn will suck worse next year) or trade them for a stablished solid starter.
