I don't even go on south street anymore. Last time I went the energy was so chaotic and negative that I knew that it was a place I no longer wanted to be around. I was just going to get some food but it just felt like something could go down at any moment..........a few weeks after that my therapist's best friend's son got killed in that mass shooting over there.

Philly as a whole is just awful now.

South Street, Rittenhouse, King of Prussia, Center City.....places where it felt like there was never violence, things regularly occur now.
Yup you right. Even by the KOP Mall they are bringing that foolishness. The energy is just negative. I don't even get on the L train anymore

25 is still young...and the fact he pretty much was doing the same as his dad was doing is telling
25 ain’t young when you have your own kids and family to take care of, gillie just got his 1st huge check 3-4 years ago when his son was already 21+, this ain’t on gillie.

his other 2 kids seems to be fine.

Act like you can't go to the movies or grocery shopping, shopping in general, out to eat or out to drink, a concert, school or college in America in 2023 without the possibility of a triple shooting happening.

It very much is possible..

I doubt that was the case my guy..

I don't know Philly like that..

My gut tells me.. he was in a high crime area

Gillie didn’t all the way raise Cheese neither…
He wasn’t in his household and had a stepdad around, unlike his other kids…

Young man was 25 years old and some people still trying to blame Gillie for “letting” him hang out in the hood and be around the people he was around. Bro, he was 25…what are they talking about?

This isn’t the time to talk rationalities and responsibilities and all that to Gillie and his family, it’s too soon, they should only be receiving an outpouring of love and support from everyone. But…

At some point we gotta do something man…the longer y’all either just completely deny or brush off or ignore this murder murder opp opp low frequency demonic stuff that these youngins absolutely love and be listening to all day every day and the effect it has on them, the longer this shyt will remain a huge part of the problem. It’s not the sole problem but it’s a huge part of the problem…denying the influence it has at this point is just willful ignorance. This young man cited Durk and Herbo and the like as his influences…and his music was on that from a Philly POV. Gillie loves that music too. Just sayin..but for right now put all that on the back burner and love on them people, shyt is awful out here.
You can see Gillie's sons in the background in a lot of the podcasts they do. He's from a two parent household with a very big and supportive family. Wallo and Gillie have been putting in work for Philly to help people for a while now. Citing Durk and Herb as influences is not the cause for his death. I was 9 years old and knew the lyrics to Get Rich Or Die Tryin' from back to front. I didn't grow up wanting to join a gang and sell crack 🤷🏾‍♂️

America has a huge gun law problem and as long as people have access to them nikkas are going to get shot. We're seeing it on the streets, concerts and schools.

We don't know the reason that young man was there, people from Philly in this thread are saying it's not even that bad of an area. But this isn't going to end as long as guns are on the street.

A young black man had a millionaire father and yet that STILL wasn’t enough to to prevent him from wanting to try out the street life

Gee I wonder what made the street life so appealing to him

To clarify, I’m not saying it’s 100% gangster rap emulation culture, but you’d have to be foolish to believe it didn’t have a part to play in this

His Dad still holds his street persona near and dear

This ain't the time to talk to Gillie about rationalities but for everyone else it is

The problem is grown men still scared to say the truth because they still want to cavort and play in fantasy land

Gillie was a street nikka, he made street music, he has street nikkas on his pod that rap about street shyt

Why does his son value the streets so much???

Duh the fukkin answer is in our face

Why he got shot, hanging with a street nikka.

Gillie was signed to cash money and that's his son

Obviously Gil ain't why his son got shot, but he raised him

When we gonna place accountability on where it needs to be placed

So his son just woke up and said I wanna be a rapper and street nikka

that’s not his wife’s kid, 2 separate households.

how can you blame the father of a grown man who made his own decisions?

It's not, but you failed as a father if your son turns to the streets

You failed as a father when you support your son's rap career and all he talking about is street shyt

Shooting nikkas, flipping bricks

He saw Wallo go to jail for years for that dumb shyt

You right...I'm on the same timing you on, with everything you said. But yeah, in terms of Gillie personally, people attacking him publicly right now are corny. He needs his feet held to the fire too but not right now.
