I don't even go on south street anymore. Last time I went the energy was so chaotic and negative that I knew that it was a place I no longer wanted to be around. I was just going to get some food but it just felt like something could go down at any moment..........a few weeks after that my therapist's best friend's son got killed in that mass shooting over there.

Philly as a whole is just awful now.

South Street, Rittenhouse, King of Prussia, Center City.....places where it felt like there was never violence, things regularly occur now.

Same. I've always preferred other areas of the city to South Street because of that negative vibe you talked about. When I do go there, I'm in and out.

A young black man had a millionaire father and yet that STILL wasn’t enough to to prevent him from wanting to try out the street life

Gee I wonder what made the street life so appealing to him

To clarify, I’m not saying it’s 100% gangster rap emulation culture, but you’d have to be foolish to believe it didn’t have a part to play in this

:wow:

Young man was 25 years old and some people still trying to blame Gillie for “letting” him hang out in the hood and be around the people he was around. Bro, he was 25…what are they talking about?

This isn’t the time to talk rationalities and responsibilities and all that to Gillie and his family, it’s too soon, they should only be receiving an outpouring of love and support from everyone. But…

At some point we gotta do something man…the longer y’all either just completely deny or brush off or ignore this murder murder opp opp low frequency demonic stuff that these youngins absolutely love and be listening to all day every day and the effect it has on them, the longer this shyt will remain a huge part of the problem. It’s not the sole problem but it’s a huge part of the problem…denying the influence it has at this point is just willful ignorance. This young man cited Durk and Herbo and the like as his influences…and his music was on that from a Philly POV. Gillie loves that music too. Just sayin..but for right now put all that on the back burner and love on them people, shyt is awful out here.

Nikkas spend so much time chasing the bag and giving out game...they not getting they damn kids straight and out of bad environments
dude was 25 and a grown ass man with his own problems and issues, his dad raised him already, plus his family lived in that neighborhood.

Was he gang?

A lot of “with the shooters” “with the steppers” captions and signs that might be gang :jbhmm:

Or did he just roll with such people and probably got got by accident/association?

That’s why I always stayed away from dudes that began to dabble in snow and such things. These shooters are not CIA type of hitters, they just buck wildly. Often on pills and shyt too
