What's going on? They had 4 months off, thats longer than their regular offseason. They playing s new 8 game season and then stariaght to the playoffs. How challenging.

For me the fact that it's an "asterisk" season has more to do with the fact that...it's damn near a new season. 3 month delay that will benefit some and hinder others, players who were injured who come back, teams that were in a groove who suddenly lose it, etc. For me "a season" is something continuous, while now we've damn near had a total reset. It doesn't mean that it will be easier (I personally don't think it will be easy at all to play in those bubble circumstances with no fans) but it's more about the length of the stop in the "season". Once it starts again it will have been like 4 months I think, which is close to a regular offseason.

My only issues with this are

1) the rest period guys have gotten. I was really looking forward to seeing a younger healthier team push the Lakers or Clippers. On the flip side this might be the freshest Chris Paul has ever been going into the playoffs. So maybe OKC will give me the upset I was looking for.

2) players who caught the rona and are still physically recovering. Is Utah gonna be healthy?

Other than that, I expect one of the 3 teams that were favorites during the regular season to win it all just like any other year.

Feels like a corny money grab

Rather they just shut down the season and wait for October to start another season

Breh...the league will frame this as the ultimate challenge and you can see players already spewing this nonsense. It's a joke. As I said before, these are glorified scrimmages dressed up as real games.

The funny part is watching Coli niccas so pressed to watch basketball eating this shyt up.

You talking about "the league" as if players aren't extremely disassociated from the NBA nowadays. The top players answer to no one. I also haven't seen any agenda from Adam Silver pushing the continuation as more competitive than regular playoffs. These are players coming out and saying this on their own accord.

I'mma also take the word of NBA athletes who play basketball for a living over.... dudes on the internet speculating on the difficulties of resuming play

i get what they're saying. being sidelined for a long time, chemistry concerns, having to deal with rona, the murders and protests is some wild shyt.

so many variables have changed and unknowns still out there. i can't see this as anything other than a outlier season. nothing like this has ever happened. maybe we'll still get some good bball out of it, but it won't be the same.
