It gets an asterisk just based off the fact that their was a 3 month break. The season is a grind. Once you get to late april and may many players are either breaking down or just getting into peak form. This negates that element. This gives an advantage to young players and players that routinely stay in shape. 2002 shaq would come into this situation out of playoff-shape. That's the best example I got. A player like Giannis would gain an advantage cause he's young and in shape. Older vets take more time to get going.

What's going on? They had 4 months off, thats longer than their regular offseason. They playing s new 8 game season and then stariaght to the playoffs. How challenging.

this shyt is more of an embarrassment than anything
If you try to normalize bullshyt, you might as well just have 3 seasons a year the trophy and title is just a way to persuade people into making money for white owners
otherwise nobody would even entertain this shyt. They will use this distraction to plan out more fukkery for next year and tie it into more money grabs. The carrot is this tinfoil trophy and money incentive, otherwise nobody from top to bottom would even be showing up to anything. They should have just gave all the players signed, guaranteed contracts for the real restart. Rework a small deal to replay games on TV and split the viewing profits with the teams to divy out to players as an "unemployment" But nah, its about you going back to work to make millions of dollars for an owner that wont even be in the same state as you
If you tell the owners and accountants to show up and play and have the players sit at home... they wouldnt have done that shyt. It wouldnt even have been a question...none of them would be out there making dough or waves for you to swim in.
People are in here already stating that "this is so hard mentally" when 95% of these cats are just showing up for the pay check. That's why nikkas are using their family as an excuse to not go, because they have money already... why jump for 8 games in a bubble to get a crippled paycheck during a pandemic when you could just sit at home and enjoy your millions and relax (Like the owners do) No matter how you cut the shyt its worse than an asterisk... if a garbage team wins its because nobody is ready.... if one of the 3 teams we all expect to win does, its a disjointed waste of time. Then they want to alter the playoff bracket to make the east stronger? shyt is a walking L from a competitive standpoint. I dont know how anyone can say that every aspect of the NBA has been crippled, I was already falling alseep through games when shyt was normal.
