Man as much as I hate to say this for Ghost but this is clearly a one and done listen. Was struggling to get through it

Same.

I had a hard time getting through it. I laughed at a couple of the lines on certain tracks 'cause Ghost is still funny. But this project seems like something just to throw out there to keep the listener with some new sh*t until he drops something else.

When you're a day one Ghost fan, the standard is mad high. I don’t know if that's a good thing anymore, or if we should go easier on the OG. But this is one of those albums I'm probably not going back to listen to, except for like 1-2 joints.

Listened to it twice now. Pair of Hammers, Skate Odyssey, Scar Tissue and No Face are tracks I like a lot. Just wish that cornball Ye didn't drop that trash verse on No Face because the beat and energy on there's exactly what I want from Ghost at this stage.

Probably will stop listening after track 13 from here on :mjlol:

I love R&B Ghost, was just listening to Wizard of Poetry a couple weeks back. With that style though you need singers that can sing and beats with some soul, the synthetic stuff don't cut it

youre 100 percent right about the r and b songs. Ghost has classic R and B songs....the neyo one for example. but neyo can really sing and bring soul to a track and the beat was right.

I get where you're coming from. But I'd rather hear mediocre joints from the veterans long as there's some tracks I fukk with, than nothing at all.

Got to be tough to get excited about funding your project out of pocket, knowing you not gonna make any money off it, when you experienced the era of big advances and recording budgets with audiences that actually valued and paid for music.

I'm the same, depending on who the veteran is, lol.

But you're right, when you're used to a big budget and can get whatever producer you want, and don’t have to worry about paying out of your own pocket, it's gotta be tough to manage your own budget with your own bread. It's a gamble. But I think the greats should still want to work with dudes like Ghost and kinda look out for him, so they can get their names back out there too, and also give the fans those collabos we've always wanted to hear.

I would love to hear Ghost get back with Pete Rock or even Beatnuts or Large Professor. I'd be happy with bro working with anyone from the era he came up in. I always feel like that level of legendary producer knows exactly what someone like Ghost needs, sonically.

It actually hurts my heart that Toney never worked (as far as I know) with Buckwild. He had some of the illest soul chops ever, beats that GFK would have just floated on

I had Buck in mind too. If they got together to work around the time Ironman dropped, that would've been crazy.

Buck was definitely in his prime around then. And cooking a lot of lesser known underground classics for all kinds of MC's. Ghost would've bodied all of those beats.

Personally I'm a huge fan of his beats from the early 2000s era, like if a few of those had made their way onto the Pretty Toney Album or something :blessed:

Even EZ Elpee. He did the best beat on this album and is barely active the days far as I can tell. Just lock in for a couple weeks straight with one of em, I'm sure they could knock out a dope 10 track album no problem

That's the other thing, we don't need these early 2000s style albums with 20+ tracks and a bunch of skits and filler at this point, just drop the best 10-12 songs you got

Ghost should hook back up with Nottz or any of the producers from his Def Jam years, imo.
