Nah I understand that part. But from a technical and creative aspect. Rewind put a lot of emcees on notice. I’m sure a few nikkas wanted to quit after that. LolDef very well crafted but to me the story itself was less captivating than the other ones.Blaze a 50I could see the chick he was talking about sitting in a sunny beachside room wearing a light blue dress hugging some thick brazilian thighs.

There is no way in hell Slick Rick (The god of stories) would be eliminated that early in a story battle. You could pick almost any story telling song off Great Adventures and it would rival anything on that list.

It's like you have to go out of your way to not include it on the list.
Rewind was amazing, but I gave you power is God Tier story telling. He uses literary devices so effective effectively. It’s like a movie. He introduces the character in the first verse. He further develops the character and introduces conflict in the second verse. Then he wraps it up in a compelling way in the third verse.
All while delivering social commentary with details, imagery, emotion etc.
It’s masterful. The only other story telling song, I’d put on that level is Ice Cube’s Summer Vacation.

Bro I’m not arguing if I Gave You Power is a better song. But Rewind is some shyt that had rappers like wtf? If was not only told and written backwards. It was easy to follow as well. It was more of a skill flex. I Gave You Power was everything u said it was.

That Ghostface Maxine was fukking ridiculous with the storytelling. The fact that Ghost, Nas, Face, Cube, Slick Rick, Biggie all have so many tracks that could qualify for this shyt. Jay got a couple too. Meet The Parents, Friend or Foe 1 and 2 straight off, he a beast when he get in that lane. Sticky Fingaz off his debut had a couple joints. shyt now I'd love to see best storytelling rappers. I think Nas might have that.
