I've only disagreed with ACG one time on a game I've played, and he gave this an immediate buy, didn't even go through the whole spiel he usually does

polygon, gamespot and some other review sites calling the game dull, boring and not original.

This point strikes me as poor reviewing considering this technically is the first real samurai rpg action adventure of this gen. I saw the gamespot review where they compared it to sekeiro die twice. Basically just has samurai in common and nothing else. May as well compare it to mortal kombat since scorpion uses samurai weapons and costumes.

Closest to this game is way of the samurai and those games are like 15 years old.

Don’t give af about reviews. I look at the potential unique experiences a game can offer before I decide if it’s worth my time.

Tsushima is the only AAA open-world samurai “simulator” so it’s automatically worth copping if you’ve always dreamed of a game like this.

This is why i dismiss any review that says it's not original. Other games have samurai in them but are clearly in different genres. This is only one in this genre.
