Death Stranding had user provided content that drastically changed your traversal and they lay out of the land. Signs bridges vehicles shelters roads underground hide outs charging stations Holo grams hints etc. User defined paths based on where players walked most often was the coolest.

As well as Different terrain, weather etc that all made going from point a to b challenging.

Not to mention different vehicle types (vans, ATVs, bikes etc) methods of traversal (ziplines, ladders, ropes bridges hover boards etc) along with different exoskeletons for different on foot options.

Death Stranding almost had too much stuff in the open world at times and is nothing like this game.
Same Death Stranding had actually too much going on after a few chapters.

So I rewatched it again today and I’m excited again. :whew:

I think my disappointment last night was that I was expecting some ground breaking game, but after seeing it as a typical third person open world game my opinion changed as I accepted it for what it was. The graphics are insane on 4k, the Ghost part was awesome and what they shown in the exploration was good as well with the birds, foxes and wind guiding you made it feel very natural and immersive.

I think as they show more stuff in the coming weeks opinions will change too.

The story will be key I think to keep me interested so if they nail that, I’m 100% in.

I was excited about this game but after watching that state of play, I'll wait for the flash sale.

Like someone said, I was spoiled with Rdr2 open world graphics. This shyt looks like a N64 game with better lighting and beautiful grass/flowers blowing in the wind.

When the camera zoomed out to show the blown up shipyard

shyt look hella generic.

Not diggin the AC style combat. I was expecting some horizon zero dawn feel.

The idea of the combat looks just right to me,
nobody can call it for sure unless you actually on the sticks yourself.
But again, theres not a lot of wasted movements in a samurai fight. Some of the art style does look generic tho

I'll be honest, outside of the visuals...



All I really see is Assassin's Creed: Japan with less of a narrative. That one hit kill combat is gonna get old real quick. :yeshrug:

Won't be copping at full price or getting it as a gift like I said before.

They bit so much I don't get how they can't be sued...
Looks too easy. Everything was a 1 hit kill damn near in the combat.

We have this phrase that we use to describe the combat in the game: Mud, Blood and Steel.
We wanted it to feel really really grounded and lethally precise. If you've ever seen a samurai movie you know what it's like. These men cut each other down with a single stroke of their sword and to capture that samurai movie, fight is very different than a lot of other games because it means you can die very quickly and your enemies can too. And that took us a while to get right but we are very pleased with the results and we think it shows up well on the screen.

Gotta say I'm excited for it. Combat isnt the most interesting, but I like that you can kill multiple dudes in one hit.exploration looks great. It's clear they took inspiration from breath of the wild and red dead which are 2 of my favorite games.
