The really good thing is business wise people are very encouraging , also there are a ton of people that have great business ideas but dont have the money to start them , its not easy to get unsecured loans in from banks in Africa but even if you can its seen as a last resort because interest rates are crazy . so there are always a ton of people who have great business ideas

Also its definitely seen as a plus if a person has come from abroad , this is because they know we are less sloppy more professional and we dont cut corners ...

The funny thing is I always wondered why the work ethic was so different and noticeable, they are just as capable and knowledgeable , but a lot of people are extremely sloppy and cut corners ... the difference is stark , everyone does just enough

It was my Dad that gave me the answer , he said because you people over there are working for whites you have to work twice as hard ,consciously and subconsciously you have to be excellent just to keep your job, any mistake you make you know it will be amplified , you cant relax because you know they are always watching you, and he said it gets to the point that we dont even notice how hard we work and how thorough we are

They have never had that pressure , so they have the same work ethic as your average white co worker who doesnt know shyt and doesnt do shyt

life is crazy sometimes

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Pardon my unintentional ignorance but does Ghana have consistent electricity and things like Amazon Prime? Also if a breh has excellent credit and never planned on returning to the US, can you technically take out a $100,000 loan here in the states and never pay it back if you put the money in a Ghana bank account?:jbhmm:

My Ghanaian friend told me Ghana doesn’t do much loans and finances. Which is a good thing If true because that means debt is not part of their society

Any brehs on here that did something like this care to speak on the experience? :lupe:
theres a few brehs. some dont post anymore, they're probably having too much fun and exploring.

dont think ive heard of any going to ghana, but one breh was in nigeria, showed pics, was posting for awhile and even had a car. he was eating good. another breh made it, then said he was busy exploring, that was the last we saw of him. another breh had a BIG thread, he'd moved to south africa. I think he worked in the embassy or some kinda govt thing. He used to post phat asses he was pulling lol.

I think someone else moved to Senegal, he also disappeared. Once they make it to the continent they tend to forget about the site lol. probably too busy exploring their new home. can't blame them can you imagine what that must feel like.

Argue what you want, fam. Im just telling you, when asked directly, they dgaf. And it's actually framed just the way you're doing it, like we should be ashamed for even the expectation of allyship, as in, 'Don't you see we're too busy to focus on your petty concerns.' ('petty concerns' = police brutality, anti blackness, basically anything but immigration) Its very 'rules for me but not for thee'.

So now we gotta invent compassionate capitalism too, huh? Do the Chinese and arabs share the same responsibility, or are we the only ppl expected to wield capital benevolently? :jbhmm:

You said up top you prefer investing in the Caribbean, I wish you great success in your investment.

I am stopping here because you are dragging other posters posts into what I am not saying and you are misconstruing my posts.

I just think that most ADOS who have never lived anywhere else, would be food in Africa. This won't be no get rich type scheme. You have to come there with money in your pockets and be prepared to take an L.

This is not supposed to be a get rich quick scheme, which is why I said the first wave of pioneers will have to be business oriented and highly skilled and have stacked chips, those that want to come in after the foundation has been laid and want a finished product with the comforts of the west will have to wait possible for their kids gen...at a lower risk and much lower reward.

@Nemesis, you breaking shyt down in here. I appreciate the thoroughness. :ehh: Thank you, rep.

I think id rather invest in a black country in the Caribbean (more social ties, greater proximity, etc).

If you really wanted to start easy, US Virgin Islands could be a possibility since it is under the US umbrella of laws, investment, etc.

I looked at the Caribbean too and the big thing that is hard to get around is that stuff isn't cheap, especially land. Often you can't invest in some land anyway unless you are super rich or a local citizen. Everything is imported and labor costs are high which is why service sector dominates the region. But I may be biased since I like to "make stuff", despite there being a lot of opportunities in the Caribbean for light manufacturing, start up costs and competition are more steep than West Africa.
