there's no inherent problem, it just makes no sense to me. he claims he's got family and land back in jamaica. so why isn't he talking about building back in jamaica?

Because he prefers living in an African country perhaps?

He isn't obligated to make moves in Jamaica alone. Just like you aren't obligated to make moves only in the US. I really don't see the issue here.

Many diasporans (and people in general) have moved to various countries for various reasons, this is nothing new.

Jamaica is a like a second to third world country. The crime rate is horrific. Plus many Jamaicians don't care about Jamaica; they are self-hating both individually and collectively. They don't place much value on developing their own since they are, after all, a nation of "many" (most all of them are dark skin blacks but I digress).

 i dont know much about jamaica. i just know i'd take offense to this comment if you were white. @bdizzle, can you confirm this statement?

Are you going to respond to my last post regarding Ghanaian admixture and genetics?

In response to the above, the Chinese have assimilated races in the past (China was once multiracial but is now dominated by Han Chinese), are racist (both against their own minorities as well as others, and particularly towards black people) and have a 1 billion population base. The locals shouldn't be happy in the slightest. If Chinese want to invest, that's fine, but no Chinese people should live in Ghana or anywhere in Africa. The same is true of the black Carribean.

Yet to read it man, will respond to that in abit

@Roddy Right gave it a quick read, its looks quite sound to be honest, one thing is though they missed out tons of groups in Ghana, northerners for example, Ga and Akan are only a few tbh. But of course they couldn't analyse every single group. I'd be interested to know which specific groups they looked at, Akan is like an umbrella term, the Ashanti people and Fanti people are both Akan but have some differences (In language mainly), I'm assuming there's little difference between sub groups in the Akan group, seeing as they bundled each of them together.

To look at Fante people and their admixtures etc, wouldn't a study comparing their genetic structure specifically to Dutch and British people be more apt? To see if there was any shared genetic information that highlighted any mixing?

If anything, I think you'd have similar results if you looked at some northern Ghanaian groups, because they migrated from Nigeria and from the north I think. Hence why some people speak hausa in north Ghana.

Pan Africanism
African Americans resetlling in Ghana would destroy the pure black Ghanaian gene pool, an ancient untouched black genetic legacy, (AAs are almost 1/4th non-black, sometimes more) and burden them with social ills (i.e. colorism) before the people have properly developed in their own people. African Americans are not even genetically Ghanaian so what they are returning to is anyone's guess. African Americans already destroyed Liberia; yall should just settle there instead of colonizing another African country and people. AAs are too far gone to return to Africa. And if AAs go, cacs are sure to follow (if only b/ AAs and cacs share cultures).

Take your African American ass to Ghana to "resettle" on land that the locals work hard all their lives for and have dreams of one day buying (only to watch it go to some Americans) and think youll be welcomed with open arms, brehs. No thanks :stopitslime:

Detroit Ex-Pat and Activist Killed in Ghana
Mamelena Diop (born Jeannette Salters), who was part of a movement of Detroit residents who wanted to reclaim their ancestral roots, was found dead along with her sister, Nzinga Janna.

Mamelena Diop, born Jeannette Salters, was a Detroit activist in the 1970s who eventually moved to Ghana as part of her exploration of her roots.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that she was killed in that West African country. Her body, along with that of her sister, Nzinga Janna, was found last week near their home.

It is believed that the double killings may have been the result of an argument over land. :dahell:

Diop, 75, who was active in black nationalist and feminist movements, helped lead the Detroit chapter of the National Black Feminist Organization, the Free Press notes.

Her activism ultimately prompted her to uncover her West African heritage, and she eventually moved to Ghana and changed her name as part of a movement by Detroit residents who went about reclaiming their roots, according to the news site.

"I feel terrible about what happened," Greg Salters, her son, said. "It's a tragedy. Words can't even explain how I feel about my mom being taken away from her home, murdered and put in a shallow grave 300 feet from her home." :snoop:

Salters, who is also from Detroit, believes that individuals who wanted the land that his mother legally obtained from the Ghanaian government murdered the two sisters.

"Some locals decided they wanted to take the land from them," he said. He said his mother took the issue to court and won. "I guess the locals decided they were going to take matters into their own hands," the son said. "And they decided to abduct and murder them."

Two men have been arrested in connection with the deaths, the Free Press reports.

According to her son, Diop, who was a dual citizen of the U.S. and Ghana, frequently traveled back and forth between Detroit and Ghana.

During her last visit to the U.S. two years ago, she was in Detroit to attend a relative's funeral.

Diop's daughter Cheryl Salters said, "She loved Africa. The people were nice." :stopitslime:
