your stars are but dust on my shoes
It seemed like a really unfortunate time for Kell's orbital had to crack. He was coming off the impressive second round when the injury happened, and he was just not the same after it.

Cut a terrific performance short. I expected Golovkin to win, but Brook really went in there ready to war.:mjcry:

The Truth
Word. I give golovkin his props but brooks deserves respect even though this was a crazy move. He moves up 2 weigh classes in 2 months notice when no other top middleweight is stepping up. Now cats are being brave all of a sudden.

I don't think kovalev knocks out ward. Ward is too tough and has a damn good defense but he does give ward possibly his toughest fight. I watched the hopkins fight and kovalev was doing a good job of stopping hopkins from smothering him. And he moves pretty good.
Ward is the least hit fighter of all active boxers and he was only second to Floyd.

He's a smart boxer, total package imo... But that weightclass shyt is no joke as we all saw yesterday.

But Ward has been training for the LHW division unlike Brook.

Its easily my most anticipated fight this year. I like Kovalev too. I know what he brings and being the natural LHW, odds are against SOG....

BUT Ward is smart, patient, technical, tough. He's not a walk in the park at any weight. Normally I can imagine how a fight will go but I can't with this...

All i know is GGG is a bytchass nikka for trying to fight WW's knowing he would get dragged in any other weight class against legit competition

Canelo won't be able to escape ggg jab, u need to have a good jab to offset ggg... Canelo doesn't even have a jab... It will be like David vs ggg.

Nah Canelo can slip and parry jabs pretty well.

The big difference is most cats he fought hardly commit to a strong hard jab ( full extent, snapping, and stepping deep into his range to push him back) Golovkin has one of those types of jabs though.

Lara was able to jab Canelo effectively in the early rounds of their fight, but he gave up too much ground so it eventually turned into one of those keep away jabs instead of a "lemme box your ears off jabs"

To me Canelo's saving grace is those flashy quick accurate combos he throws. If he can slow down the fight and explode every now and then with those, he could possibly win a decision because lets face it, judges and fans love those types of "can't miss" punches. He can definitely win rounds like that, but that shyt is hard to do for 12 rounds especially if your stamina is suspect.

Brook tried that exploding shyt, but then he'd get carried away and try to bang too much. Then once the pressure came, he over moved instead of staying close and using angles to counter.

That shyt burns you out quickly. That Freitas style of running and punching ain't for everybody (Chico proved it wasn't for Freitas either:mjlol:)

nikkas better watch some Chris Bryd fights and learn to defend in the pocket against bigger guys without using the whole damn ring.

You better have another account on deck then:shaq:
Golovkin vs. Canelo sparring session: A look back | Boxing News & Results
“Golovkin was not supposed to give Canelo the ‘full treatment,’ and it was clear from the sparring I saw that he was indeed holding back,” Doug Fisher said to RingTV.com. ”Still, Golovkin ‘holding back’ was a lot for Canelo, only 20 at the time, to deal with…He couldn’t hurt Golvokin with his best shots. Golovkin hurt Alvarez a few times – a hook at the end of the second round visibly stunned him and some body shots made him wince – but the young man kept his head and found ways to compete even when he was clearly tired (a combination of the altitude and GGG’s pressure) in the last two rounds.”

Fisher went on to say that as the rounds went by, Canelo faded and took more punishment, even though Golovkin was taking it easy on him and not giving him the full treatment like he could have. Golovkin did a lot of shifting with his feet to get in position to crank on his body shots against the red-haired Canelo and this really bothered. Golovkin wasn’t trying to tee off on Canelo to score a knockout. He was, however, putting some respectable power on his body shots.

Breh I already have a forever ban bet with a poster, it will be one of ggg easiest fights. A flat footed Canelo will be food.

Canelo hitting 97g with those same uppercuts as "weak" Brook would shatter him. 97g got shaken up by a blown up welter breh. Canelo is a big boy and FLoyd said Canelo is the strongest fighter he ever fought lol.

U sound like u in denial and u surrounded by delusions while wishfully thinking.

Bruh... I noticed

I never questioned GGG boxing skills. I always felt like he's a REALLY good boxer fundamentally

I still think Brook is a better overall boxer but that power+ boxing ability = :whew:

Thats why im scared for Ward. Thats my dawg.. I love him, but Kovalev ain't no scrub. Dude can box.. And punch... and finish:sadcam:

But this shyt is what make great boxers great. Win or lose.

I gave Brook NO CHANCE even though i like his skills.

But to me, he did his thing against all odds. He didn't win, but gotdamn if it wasn't an exciting fight. And not one time did he break or want too... His corner broke but it was the right decision because Brook would've died in that ring and I have nothing but respect for that kinda fortitude.

And subtly, he exposed GGG. This was not a win for GGG despite the W. nikkas need to read between the lines. Brook showed that if you got skills, you can beat him with ease. Brook held back at times to tire dude, but if youre a middleweight with a good chin, good stamina, and a solid background, then you can beat GGG

This is why I say he don't want them Ward problems.. This fight proved it

:patrice:

I wouldn't use that word breh

Brook kind of provided a blueprint tho. He got his punches off first and tied him up. Against a guy who's great at cutting off the ring, it's better to tie him up rather than using more energy to try and escape. The only thing is he got pushed back to the ropes too much where he took too many combos from ggg.

Now knowing about the eye socket, I can't complain about the stoppage. Dude would've had the Margarito stare if he kept going.

Brook definitely rocked and buzzed GGG a couple times, but it never looked like he was hurt or shaken up.

The way nikkas is acting, you'd think Golovkin was stumbling around like Cotto in the Torres or Corely fight.

Then you got the GGG Stans talking bout GGG didn't feel a thing N he let Brook punch him :russ:

I was surprised how GGG reacted to some of them shots brook landed...besides Lemeuix N maybe Stevens Brook been the only one to have the nikka stop that T1000 terminator shyt (for a bit)

nikkas hype on sparring from however many years ago like Canelo hasn't leveled up since then :banderas:
A lot of people hype up sparring here like it's an actual fight. Going by that logic, spadafora would've beat Floyd if they fought back then. Maybe ggg should move up to lhw or cw if he's dropping all these guys in the gym.

Kell def made him feel it and even had him bleeding. GGG wasn't in danger but Kell def hits hard its just that triple G has good focus and increases the pressure effectively. GGG got a good chin never been dropped but the way some of his stans on other boxing forum speak, if he slipped on ice and fell they'd say he meant to do it because he had neighbors looking and he wanted to give them a big comedy show.
