Trout had Canelo backing up for the 2nd half of the fight with mostly throw away pity pat punches with an occasional decent left every now and then. Despite dropping and hurting Trout, he couldn't keep dude off of him.

Nobody has pressured him like that since, so I doubt he'd be able to handle it when GGG does it, but we'll see.

This dude Chocolatito, I hope everyone truly appreciates what he's doing. He's one of the few top guys that truly has a P4P mentality. He went up in weight and fought the second best guy in the division in his first fight. None of that "I need a year of tune-ups/ let me grow into the division" plea-copping. :whoa: Then as the "smaller man" he was on Cuadras' ass all night gunning for a KO. Did y'all catch Cuadras talking to his cornerman about Roman's pressure and power?

Corner - You need to mix it up more!
Cuadras - But when I do I'm getting caught. :bryan:
Corner - You hurt him that round. Stand your ground! :gladbron:
Cuadras - But if I do that, I'll be spent.:mjcry:
Corner - So what are you gonna do, run?:beli: Use lateral movement!

I think the overabundance of cherry-picking has made us forget that P4P doesn't mean looking flawless every time out. It means facing the toughest challenges consistently regardless of styles. Most top guys wouldn't dare face someone like Cuadras in their first fight at a new weight. Roman was taking pics before the fight with his biggest threat, Inoue, and possibly fights him next. Win, lose or draw, Roman's prime probably ends after the Inoue fight. AndChocolatito is out there talking about that fight will be a "blessing from God." :wow: Only other fighter that can be mentioned in the same breath as him is the SOG/Kovalev winner.

Great fukking post.

I think Cuadras may have taken Roman's prime during that fight. If I were him, I'd take a lil stay busy tuneup before #MonsterSquad, but if he goes right to that fight, I'm not complaining.

:dead: at the cards for Chocolatito vs Cuadras in here.

I saw the fight on Combate Space, they had a mexican announcer at ringside cheering for Cuadras an even THAT dude was like ":francis: these flurries are barely landing and Chocolatito is doing more damage".

But!!!!

Don't come for GGG if you not Kell Brook skill or better. I will say this, dudes a monster. He's not average at all. He cut the ring off perfectly... Even when getting hurt. He got exposed, but dude will rearrange your kufi quick af
345-5 amateur record. Silver in Olympics and several world amateur championships. Never been knocked down in his pro or amateur fights. Notice how with his footwork his made those quick cuts in change of direction to keep cornering brooks which were subtle but effective? That is experience and ring generalship from all those fights. He got sloppy true but you'll need to be world class like canelo or so to capitalize on that. This is what makes this fight intriguing.

Brook has an iron chin :whoo:
I ain't seen another middleweight take this many shots flush from GGG and not go down but this welterweight does. Vicious shots

little g punches like an mma fighter:scust:....he telegraphs everything and rarely lets off a crisp straight punch. that's why brook was able to slip a lot of his punches. see the difference in how sharp brook's punches are compared to little g's. and notice little g is a sitting duck when his opponent throws. i'm really interested to see how little g stands up to a sustained body attack. I still remember monroe buckled him with a clean body shot.

Bruh... I noticed

I never questioned GGG boxing skills. I always felt like he's a REALLY good boxer fundamentally

I still think Brook is a better overall boxer but that power+ boxing ability = :whew:

Thats why im scared for Ward. Thats my dawg.. I love him, but Kovalev ain't no scrub. Dude can box.. And punch... and finish:sadcam:

But this shyt is what make great boxers great. Win or lose.

I gave Brook NO CHANCE even though i like his skills.

But to me, he did his thing against all odds. He didn't win, but gotdamn if it wasn't an exciting fight. And not one time did he break or want too... His corner broke but it was the right decision because Brook would've died in that ring and I have nothing but respect for that kinda fortitude.

And subtly, he exposed GGG. This was not a win for GGG despite the W. nikkas need to read between the lines. Brook showed that if you got skills, you can beat him with ease. Brook held back at times to tire dude, but if youre a middleweight with a good chin, good stamina, and a solid background, then you can beat GGG

This is why I say he don't want them Ward problems.. This fight proved it

? He was putting his body into those shots. They do have a different way of punching but golovkin has stone hands. Monroe did give problems with the body shot but its hard to do with sustained pressure like that. I think that will be part of canelo's plan because he is a hella good body puncher.

I think that will be canelo's gameplan from the jump. nobody wants to hit little g to the body cause they fear what's coming up stairs. but little g rarely trades punches. so canelo will be able to let off body punches and slip away before little g returns fire. The defense, and mixture of punches from canelo will be something little g has never seen. canelo will do to him what he does to everybody. set him up with body work then kill the head. by round 4 little g will have no idea what's coming.

Word. I give golovkin his props but brooks deserves respect even though this was a crazy move. He moves up 2 weigh classes in 2 months notice when no other top middleweight is stepping up. Now cats are being brave all of a sudden.

I don't think kovalev knocks out ward. Ward is too tough and has a damn good defense but he does give ward possibly his toughest fight. I watched the hopkins fight and kovalev was doing a good job of stopping hopkins from smothering him. And he moves pretty good.

Fans love those flashy eye catching flurries breh.

Granted some were hard shots, but some of those flurries were just feather duster combos.

Remember though that GGG not only has good footwork but he has one of the best jabs in the game. That will also trouble canelo for a while. So he will fight differently but I think he will be susceptible to uppercuts at the same time. I favor GGG honestly but Canelo could edge it.

Canelo won't be able to escape ggg jab, u need to have a good jab to offset ggg... Canelo doesn't even have a jab... It will be like David vs ggg.
