I'm no expert on this. But I say prepare based on where you are and have a backup. There is no "perfect" place. Rural areas got washed in Katrina too.

The city has the biggest issues when stuff goes down but even if you live in a city, if you are smart you will know how to prepare (and leave) when necessary. I would leave a city once it becomes clear power will be gone for more than one day or immediately if infrastructure like water is gone.

Boondocks is dicey if you are not around many Black people and don't know anyone but the big moral is if you have a close knit support network, it is best. 5-10 Black families (or non-Black ones) that have your back is better than being surrounded by brehs who only give a fukk about themselves.
Thanks breh. I feel like these uncharted territories.

Charlotte - Washington D.C.
@יוֹאֵל may have comments. I think he has a bug out location in some rural area.

I have land in SW Arizona and some acreage around in the mountains near Asheville, NC. Charlotte is only 600-700 ft above sea level and is not that far inland to avoid a tsunami threat coming from the Atlantic nevermind it's surrounded by two nuke plants nearby.

The land I have in AZ is really for quick passage into Mexico if I feel like the entire US is going to capsize and nothing will be salvageable. I have about two and a half years of provisions in NC and about six months in AZ but I only have the NC location loaded up with firearms.

If you've been given antibiotics and don't use them all then save them if they don't have any expiration date.

I read up on the Bosnian civil war...we could learn alot on how they survived .

Yeah I read a bit about that too. When there was shelling/fighting during the day they went into the forest to hide, returning home at night. They would bury provisions out in the forest to use while they were out there.

But when shyt got bad you had groups of people moving on foot to safe zones.

So what’s the ideal area to live? City or Boondocks? Don’t mostly whites live in the boondocks? How to find trustworthy brehs?

There's ideal and then there's realistic.

Ideal? Midwest few acres of land surrounded by a couple of sources of fresh water and plenty of animal life to hunt.

Realistic? You most likely live in a mid to large city. Prep for your situation/surroundings. Have a plan of what you are going to do for different levels of emergencies. Storm knocks out power for 3 days what are you doing? New pandemic locks everything down for a week what are you doing? Cyber attack takes down power grid for a month what are you doing? and finally all hell breaks lose, civil war, what's your plan?

I plan harder for the first two than the rest. As far as trustworthy, kind of the same thing, people are very trustworthy and friendly during a snow storm, no one and I mean no one is going to be trustworthy and friendly if the power goes out on half the country for a month.

I was actually updating my contingency planning this weekend. I have several tiers I plan for, usually planning a main and backup location depending on the magnitude of the emergency:

Local emergency (really localized near where I live): I have options for 1-3 days, or 3-14 days if something like a flood happens and I'm out
Regional emergency (like I have to bug out of my town/county) so I have other places outside the county/metro area (hotels so far) I will go to

The hardest ones planning for are long-term emergencies where I have to leave the area since my fam is all down South and being assured I can get there in a major incident could be dicey. Finding a regional safe location in PA/NJ/DE/MD is my next task. NJ is lower priority since I can't bring all my guns. I got a few months of food though so hopefully I can hunker down too.

You have any ideas on where to stay if hotels aren't available? I don't trust AirBnB mofos.

not really, I think when it comes to hotels/motels especially in that upper east coast tri state area is not overlooking less desirable areas of town/ cities. In my plan to stay at a hotel I don't even go to nearest one, I look at one about 15 minutes out that's empty because it looks run down.

Ideal situation? not really but I can guarantee I will get a room there quicker than the downtown Sheraton. Other than that weather/ situation depending am slowly building it up where I could stay in my car (parked somewhere safe) if there's no other options

I wouldn't recommend staying in hotels or having a safe house if SHTF. You need to be mobile. You don't need to be secluded, seclusion will draw more attention to you. You want to become "the grey man". Basically someone who can move around without drawing attention to yourself; light bags, small arms, inconspicuous clothing.

You should have you big bug out bags, but have small ones as well, one for every family member if you have a family.

I live in the city. I'm trying to adapt to 2 different scenarios; power outage/natural disaster and civil unrest/governmental coup.

They require 2 very different approaches. One calls for you to stay in place the other calls for you to leave or group up with other like-minded individuals. In both scenarios however you don't want people to know how much you have or what you are capable of.

Yeah my first and second options are in second-tier towns I am familiar with outside the main metro. Not in the middle of nowhere but also not the first pick on anyone's list. I got kids so camping out in a parking lot is not an option for me.
