Where do you rank it compared to 95 albums? What about if you go 93-95?

Think about that. Then extrapolate to its placement in the game as a whole.
right up there with infamous. ob4cl, and liquid swords, dont believe theres been as powerful of an album since. "the coming" would be the only flawed track.

Anything could be argued breh. I've even seen people argue Outkast is better than Mobb Deep. :mjlol:
Talking about music though, what is the argument that NWA had a negative impact?

OutKast being better than Mobb Deep isn't laughable by any stretch of the imagination. You could make a very valid argument for both sides.

The argument that NWA had a negative impact is that they pioneered what became known as gangsta rap. IMO, that is somewhat true, but people who argue negative impact leave out that Straight Outta Compton also had social commentary that was necessary even though it was expressions of angst. By the time you get to nikkaz4Life, it really did create a blueprint for what a lot of artists would later follow.

Do you think that's the general consensus opinion?
dont know, dont care, but what are YOU saying? i say that because i dont think theres any individual let alone a general consensus of individuals who can explain any area where soul food lacks compared to other classics of its era musically. where is it lacking exactly? beats, lyrics, songs to where its supremely overrated? where would you put it in 95?

I'm not saying its wack. Top ten? Maybe 15? I'd have to think about it. But it wasn't a standout album in 95.
And its not on the same level as those other three you listed earlier.
Plus Pac, Quik...I don't know. I'd have to really think about it.

Then you add on its not seeing Doggystyle, Midnight Marauders, 36 Chambers, Illmatic, Ready to Die...etc.

It's a great album...but its not in that upper echelon by any stretch.

I love the South. In the early to mid 90s the South was pretty much bulletproof. Then Master P came and fukked everything up :mjcry:
Soul Food is supremely overrated on here.
Kast was more consistent but never came close to the Mt Everest like heights the Mobb reached with Infamous and HOE. Don't forget about the QB purple tape either.
By comparison, Kast was standing on an ant hill. :youngsabo:
Soulfood overrated? you gotta be the biggest idiot this side of Tennessee
