The city stuff is true. Houses, cars, forests, even a race track still are still standing at the bottom. People die every year from accidents, suicides, being dumped, swimming in the wrong parts and getting snagged on old trees, etc.

This is kinda crazy to me that they didn't even try to clear the area?

And so there is a good chance that old known or unknown burial grounds were flooded.

They wanted a water source so they gave short notice and destroyed a dam. It flooded the whole valley. Who knows what all was the in the area before the city. A lot of older records were kept by memory in Georgia. Some of that shyt is handwritten on the back of documents in archives lol.

I’ve never stepped foot in that lake. Everyone from the city know its some weird shyt going on around there.

Mostly drunk people and some others who are depressed and drawn to the myth. Earlier this year they found a sunken minivan With a dead white dude inside. People either kill themselves, get drunk and drown, have boating/jet ski accidents and drown, or get snagged on underwater debris

They flooded the town. Lake Lanier is one of many artificial lakes aka reservoirs in Georgia. Another one is Lake Allatoona and the most commonly known Lake Hartwell which is the lake you cross going from Georgia to South Carolina on I-85 North.

Lake Jackson is another fake lake, down the street from me (HWY 212), you may recognize 212 as Snapfinger/Browns Mill

finally, on the way to Auburn university, you cross over this fake lake before you leave Georgia, right after the big ass Kia Plant (West Point)

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I don't think our enslaved ancestors gonna be trying to haunt us. If anything they would be trying to guide us.

My family has a family cemetery in Atlanta. Included in the cemetery is my 3rd great grandfather and grandmother, and their siblings, all of whom were born slaves. When I've visited, I felt nothing but an overwhelming sense of peace. And that's what I've generally felt when I've visited other slave cemeteries.

If this was happening when you were in the DMV, and continued once you got to Atlanta, maybe it's something else that you got attached to you following you around.
I guess the slave cemeteries should be ok, and those spirits shouldn't bother their own relatives. But I don't think they would want a bunch of White folks building over them, or digging up their graves to redevelop.

I had some other weird experiences that made me realize these hauntings can get into your thoughts too. For example, what if what happened in the DMV actually was a practical joke from my job, which wasn't out the ordinary working around those racist. I understand some of those troubled spirits can make the same thing happen to you in a different place, making you think they caused the prior incident, when they didn't. Those wicked spirits that knows your thoughts, or that can get into your dreams, are the worst. I have another real experience that may depress people here if I explained it.

It's been floating around social media the past 5-7 years. I definitely don't remember hearing that shyt in the 90s-2000s as a kid. Last time I went was 4th of July 2011

Me neither. When I grew up in ATL there were always drunk boating accidents but no haunting rumors.

Lake Lanier definitely haunted. It’s always some spooky shyt going down there. You can be a good swimmer and something will still happen. Even the Falcons know about it. Julio went swimming in that lake and he lost some expensive jewelry there and he said he wanted to go back to try to find it and the Falcons hit him with the
