I wasn't actually trying to draw parallels between the two cases, the point i am making is that the media is blatantly ignoring issues of white on black racial crime to push their narrative. You don't see this case in the media, you don't see Piers Morgan going on about this 24/7, you don't see talk show hosts having thirty minute round table discussions. Silenced. The rule truth is that whites are the majority victims of racial crime in the states, it is cowardly and wrong to sit by and not call this narrative out.

Why does that matter though? The media is gonna do what the media does.

The issue is the lack of empathy, nah fukk that, the hatred that is displayed by white America about a young black teenager getting fukked over by the racist criminal justice system, AND society. TM was minding his own business, but GZ interjected himself, and his self destructive behavior, onto TM and his life was lost because of it. Imagine someone following you in the dark and rain, first in a car, then on foot. Trayvon Martin ACTIVELY tried to avoid encountering his pursuer. Then died having NO CLUE as to why.

Then, instead of at least objectively trying to piece the facts of the case together, they (the police and white America) want to ignore EVERYTHING that led up to the shooting, and concentrate on the mere seconds of action that Trayvon Martin took to try and save his life, and use seconds out of 10+ minutes leading up to the shooting, to blame it on the person who was first, minding his own business lawfully, and second, actively trying to avoid an encounter with his pursuer. It wasn't just a sentiment of support that white America showed toward GZ, it went as deep as raising hundreds of thousands of dollars, projecting their disdain of a black youth online, all kinds of shyt.

If you attribute our failures to them, you also have to give them credit for our accomplishments. We can't give credit to other groups of people for our actions, good or bad. This dude that punched and killed that guy, who may have been a Klan member or may have been a good guy with black kids himself, has done nothing but set us back. We are not on home turf and will have to play by their rules whether we like it or not. All he has accomplished is given another headline that confirms another stereotype and that'll play out in some brother not getting a job, or not accepted to some college, or pulled over and harassed. You think this is gonna prompt any white folks to examine their role and privilege in this country or do the opposite?

set us back? what world are you living in? one that's removed from where i'm standing, clearly. unemployment in our commmunity is over 50%. think about that. young black boys can be gunned down with impunity, and cries of outrage are met with accusations of playing the race card. black entertainment is a parade of stereotypes that denigrate us on a daily basis. positive images of black men and women are rare in "popular" culture. so, what am i doing that hasn't already been done?

you say that the death of this white guy only reinforces, in white people's minds, their distorted image of black men. i say that THEIR racism is why that white guy is dead. if white people wish to stop the escalation of violence towards them by black people, they must take ownership of the problems in our community. they must start hiring black people. they must stop making gross presumptions of guilt because of our skin color. they must stop reducing our people to caricatures and start treating us as human beings.

if they don't, then, more of them will be hurt. and i will not feel any sympathy.

You say the media is trying to push a "narrative", and that you're not attempting to draw parallels between acts of random violence and the trayvon saga: so what exactly are you referencing here? What are these countless examples of white on black violent crime, which drew national interest at the expense of similar black on white stories? You are aware that your narrative of an America that behaves with prejudice towards white males, at the behest of black people, is ripped straight out of a neo nazi leaning Playbook.
