:wow: Real talk, Warner Bros & HBO might as well ink a deal for the prequel films RIGHT NOW. Like I said in the OP, the GoT books & TV show have such a following, That a Robert's Rebellion trilogy is guaranteed to be a Lord of the Rings"/"The Hobbit"/"Harry Potter"-sized blockbuster hit for Warner Bros/HBO.
And since we pretty much only know the major plot points and shyt, and specific things weren't really described as much in relation to battles, the field is pretty open for what they can do with the films if they decided to go that route :lupe:

:ohhh: Well The books & TV show definitely have the following for a movie to be a Lord of the Rings"/"The Hobbit" or "Harry Potter" blockbuster hit for Warner Bros/HBO. The problem is the the storylines are too complicated for someone who has never watched the TV Show or read the books to just jump in.

I hate to be the voice of reason but "Game of Thrones" is nowhere near as popular as "Lord of the Rings". Or even "Harry Potter".

The entire series of books sold around 25 mill in North America, "LOTR" trilogy sold 150 million. "The Hobbit" alone sold another 100 million.

On the one hand I'd like to see a "GoT" movie but on the other hand the show only averages 4-5 million viewers, there's no way in hell they'd recoup off a $100 mill budget. So I'd rather they just stuck to TV, the show has been thriving there. Maybe do a spin off or the prequel like they said.

Compare book sales that have been out for half a century brehs...
GOT gets 4-5 mill first airing. Not including all HBOgo viewings, second airings, etc. Also the most downloaded show for the past 2 years. A movie would more than recoup...

Exactly. He taking into account first viewing. Game of Thrones average 11 million viewers over the week. I will GUARAN-fukkING-TEE. Game of Thrones would make 700-800 million dollars in the movie theater worldwide if it's released. And that's a conservative number. Hex you are delusional. fukking BATTLESHIP a terrible fukking movie made 237 million dollars overseas.

Hex you don't understand how big international box office is to the success of feature films today. These blockbusters live off of International box office.

Game of Thrones has a huge international following. And HEX guess what? Most lots of people bootleg GOT overseas because HBO is not carried in some of the countries. People will come out in droves to watch GOT in theaters.

I'm laughing at this nikka HEX saying he's " the voice of reason". Comparing a book that has been out half a century to a book that has barely been out 15 years? :russ:

Hey, Hex, guess what other movie adapted from a book had only sold 20 million copies and is a huge blockbuster film? THE fukkING HUNGER GAMES. Which is now a billion dollar franchise. Thank God you don't run a movie studio Hex. Jesus Christ!
