George R.R. Martin Teases Game of Thrones Movies!
Dragons in IMAX? Okay, no one said IMAX...
by Roth Cornet MARCH 19, 2014
We are mere weeks, weeks away from the Season 4 premiere of Game of Thrones. As we look ahead and ponder how many seasons the HBO series will offer, author George R.R. Martin proposes that the story may culminate with a motion picture.
Martin spoke with The Hollywood Reporter at the Season 4 premiere in New York Wednesday night, where he said that a film version would, "depend on how long the main series runs."
"Do we run for seven years?" the author continued. "Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."
Of course, the television series creators may be faced with deciding how beholden they need to be to the pace with which Martin completes his book series.
During last season's premiere, Martin told IGN that his prequel book series Tales of Dunk and Egg, was being looked at by HBO as a potential spin-off series to compliment Game of Thrones (take a look at the video below.)
Martin says that this series may also be adapted into a feature film. "They could be the basis for [a movie]," he told the outlet. "I have written these three stories, and I have about a dozen more."
The question remains: When will he complete A Song of Ice and Fire, the series of novels that HBO's Game of Thrones is adapted from?
We will keep you updated as details emerge.
Would you like to see Game of Thrones culminate in a movie?

Well The books & TV show definitely have the following for a movie to be a Lord of the Rings"/"The Hobbit" or "Harry Potter" blockbuster hit for Warner Bros/HBO. The problem is the the storylines are too complicated for someone who has never watched the TV Show or read the books to just jump in.
