It would've been George's thoughts filtered through one of them.
Sure
It would've been George's thoughts filtered through one of them.
The reason he sold it was because he couldn't make it on his ownHe should just do Star Wars with the serial numbers shaved off
He got loads of money! The reason he sold it was because he couldn't make it on his own
You don't want to use your own money for the budget he didn't.He got loads of money!
Good interview. I must've missed where he said all that cause I didn't hear it in that clip... anyway, enjoy that bread you got and stay out of Disney business imo. He could've created another star wars with all the comments he been making. If you retired then let the chips fall.
Old heads love doing this. like yes we know its a new world. That's why you got lesbians and comic book writers on your shyt cause people like Rian Johnson get boo'ed when they try to do something new or have to get filtered through. The shadow of Lucas still hangs over the franchise.
Another thing is he sold not just Star Wars, but the entire Lucasfilm company. So any opportunity for original ideas has to go through Disney and they already weren't fukking with the original ideas he had back then. So it is what it is.
Lucasfilm is ran majority by women now that just want representation no matter the cost. Lucas denutted his whole company.
Nobody told Rian Johnson to make Finn a bozo and have scenes like thisThat's why you got lesbians and comic book writers on your shyt cause people like Rian Johnson get boo'ed when they try to do something new or have to get filtered through.
What do you view his description of the force as?Cry babies that only want the original trilogy is what ruined it.
I was on board with the lore George and company were creating. I find his view of The Force much more fascinating than the magic some people want it to be
100% facts.Disney has no interest in art of quality, they're focused on milking IPs until they're bone dry. Besides constantly hiring bad writers, not letting directors control sets etc I think a major problem is that they completely disagree with George about the essence of Star Wars. It is a fantasy series for children. It was never really "science fiction" in the way Star Trek or Dune were. It's a space opera serial, similar to the ones George enjoyed as a child. Disney has spent so much time obsessing over adult Star Wars fans that they've sucked any magic out of the product. There is no need for a "serious" Star Wars show with "adult themes." Focusing on appealing to man children who are going to consume just about anything anyway is a bad idea. The goal should always be to capture the imagination of children and make Star Wars something they anticipate, generation after generation. You can't do that while pumping out multiple shows a year, developing multiple spin off movies, etc.
The other weird thing I notice is obsession with endless growth and never ending consumption across the globe. Star Wars never had a problem with being accessible, it never had a problem appealing to different people around the globe, etc. Yet with nearly every show there's this weird corporate push to act like Star Wars was not for everyone until Disney stepped in. That girls, black people, etc didn't have a place until Disney trotted out some (half ___ed) characters for us, so we can finally understand Star Wars is for us too. This focus constantly results in bad shows and films where there's clearly more focus on creating derivative characters than telling fun or compelling stories. And the funny thing is no one really gives a ____ about the new characters beyond Mandolorian, and even that ____ got ruined super quick. It's just nonstop slop.
There's a big problem where there isn't a stable of talented, visionary writers coming up with fun stories VS a focus on re-hashing ____ with some random black character thrown in, that black people don't even ____ with. This should be writer driven, instead it's producer driven...
