I remember seeing that in 23andme you should look at line 15 on your genetic ancestry composition.Years ago I asked that same question on a genetic group after I received my 23andMe results. I'm the opposite of you, dark skin but only 68% west african. I was told that one's % of african blood =/= to pigmentation. This was back in 2012.
Both my dad's maternal and paternal lines are fair skin. My mother's maternal line is fair skin but her paternal line is not. Her father's line is from the South Carolina/Georgia border and lived in what is described as a "genetic bottleneck". Pretty much, was a group of blacks that went unmixed and had little genetic contact with other races. Kind of like the Gullahs. So they're extremeley dark. So with me, it's apparent, my grandfather's genes kicked in and obliterated any european pigmentation genes I would have inherited from the other lines.
Mine has a lot of blue in it, yours may have a lot of pink.
