Democrats have to be able to say we are not the party of trans right, and we are not a party of hate, BUT and we support common sense protections for men and women. That brings voters in, and doesn't reject people who are less tolerant of trans rights.
i'm not going to be guilted by these lunatics and cowards into going along with "prioritizing women = transphobia". they're dead wrong, and it's time to draw a line

Think about Lia Thomas, the Penn swimmer.

Rank as a male swimmer: 462 in the nation
Rank as a female swimmer: 1 in the nation

What do you do with that brehs?
you just tell the fukking clown that he can't play women's sports. it's not a remotely difficult debate. progressives don't get to marginalize women

I think the arguments for a shutdown outweigh the arguments against it currently.

I suppose this is where a strong message and being able to convey that to the American people is important.

If all of the democrats want to vote no, is Schumer capitulating because there is pollling showing that Americans are OK with what DOGE and Trump have been doing? Or is he being swayed by a lobby?

can we really even trust polling anymore idk the answer to that

people around me are mostly shellshocked, horrified, angry, trying to ignore it, and or went in to grind mode or survival mode

without a question and I'm not saying this as an out for him but it would be stupid to posture a no vote and then get overriden

I really don't think it makes a difference if they vote it down or not. The house wil just come up with something equally if not more horrific. Republicans aren't interested in bipartisan legislation or the bretterment of the American people not to be broken record.

things are going to get really bad here and I would not count on the courts to be a strong enough detterent to what Republicans are attempting to implement

I do not have enough knowledge to talk about the issue at heart but if it doesn't make any difference to vote it down or not then they should just do it. That way at least they are on the record opposing this, specifically if the base oppose it as well.

It makes no sense to vote for a bill in which the GOP made no effort to even give Dems a bone. It looks like a clear own goal to me. :picard:

Most sites are only detailing which Dems are a no or a yes….very hard to see what’s in the current proposed bill itself.

Anybody got a (credible) link to that sort of information?

I've seen the CR

Cuts all kinds of funding appropriated to different depts (energy, agro, etc...) from the funding approved by congress already to $0

It's a completely dirty CR and not brought in good faith. But everything the Republicans do is not in good faith.

I mean I assume that….but why is there no explicit media marketing by the Dems say “hey, this is specifically how they are trying to fukk the public, we will not agree to selling the citizen down the river…..we are a NO to cutting VA benes, we are a NO to cutting energy programs, we are a NO to gutting aid to rural America….if they want to paint us as being the bad guys, then so be it”

:mjtf:Instead all we getting fed is “no cloture, no to the bill….republicans are bad”

Have they not learned “Republicans bad. Jan 6 treasonous. We’re less bad and at least not treasonous” does not fukking work with a majority low information, easily duped, PoS admiring American public?

This is my final point on this and this is what I’ve been trying to communicate for a year to @Pressure @wire28 and other brehs - yeah voting for Dems over Republicans is obvious but Dems are awful at messaging and standing tall on anything. They’re not ready for the moment. Dems are basically the nerds who got stuffed in lockers and never threw hands and Republicans are the stereotypical dumb jock winning the popularity contests off swag and pure arrogance and intimidation while having no fukking clue. Tim Walz started bringing that jock energy and they told dude to stand down to not offend “moderate Republicans” and then 95 percent voted with Trump any way. These people just old as fukk with no fire b.
