As someone in the UK, how is the mood in the US right now? I’m sure MAGA types loving it but has the average American realised the gravity of the situation in the US I.e It’s likely America has turned a course it will struggle to turn back from.
Some care but most dont. Sadly we done a terrible job educating our citizens on the importance of NATO, our allies, and why the rules based international order is important. Unless big economic effects happen a lot of people will remain on auto pilot

Putin is hoping that EU would not step up for Ukraine but I see EU stepping up. This plan is going to backfire.

they have to step up, they can't allow russia to gain more ground and there will never come a better opportunity to defeat them sans nukes.

putin has to lose or the cost will be even greater a few years or a decade from now.

London and the rest of the EU got put on notice today that Trump is giving Ukraine and All of Europe to Putin...

Now everyone knows... that if Putin says fukk it and launches a nuke at London... The US will not respond

We're in for a hell of a ride... emphasis on hell

As a Brit, this is the moment Europe has to accept they don’t have the back stop of the US any more. Europe is alone. There isn’t a reason for Europe to be scared given it has nukes, more advanced military weapons than Russia and is richer as a collective . The problem is the European may not react and instead feel a sense of paralysis.

the mood is that most people's lives are no different today, than they were a month ago. yes, a few thousand gov employees are getting fired, and i'm not downplaying that for anyone on a personal level; but this is a 330 million person country. that hasn't caused any kind of blowback. and that's the only tangible action trump has taken so far

trump and elon are acting like huge fakkits, but most people just tune that out. americans aren't gonna really sit up and take notice until trump/republicans shut down the government in march, if they can't pass a budget

you ask if people grasp the "gravity of the situation", well, the majority of people aren't/weren't happy with the economy right now. so the country's waiting to see if trump improves it, or tanks it

and this shyt with zelensky; the average american couldn't find ukraine on a map. putin taking a piece of it is not high on anyone's list of priorities. we've seen too much money flow to ukraine to be "shamed" into caring about it

I wouldn't say Europe shouldn't be scared...

Comrade Trump will probably be sending Russia more advanced weaponry under the table

I personally think Europe needs to get their shyt together quickly or when the shyt hit's the fan, the domino's will fall quicker as leaders scramble to get a plan and respond
