Well if you no anybody that is confused about tariffs just tell them that it is a tax paid by the consumer. If Dummy Chump imposes a 10% tariff on a good and that good would have normally caused $100 then the tariff would make the good cost $110. Companies don't pay the tariff. End consumers pay it.

A tariff will cause inflation. Worse than that it is going to cause people to not make any large purchases like homes and cars.
