Isn't it obvious why he keeps running from it? The "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" party needs to maintain facades of being self made men in order to justify why they don't support making life easier for poor people.
It's the same reason Trump is unwilling to admit how much his father actually left him and also insists that he is self made.
I understand the intention behind it, but hes foolish thinking it's actually gonna work. he'd be better off focusing more on his next scam than this.
