I didn't mind the girl power scene.

It's all the goofy time travel shyt that ruined the movie for me.
It felt “forced” and it didn’t organically happen. I actually liked their comic book take on the time travel stuff since it looped all the events together revisiting cap at shield, the OG avengers movie etc. that was a fun ride.

Yep, my nephews are obsessed with the movies and I find Miles to be a very good role model. The care they put into making him stand out completely blows any MCU I seen.

I would love more coming of age stories to centering about black men and boys. Specifically in animation.

Spider-verse is animated, can’t really make a fair comparison because of the limitations of live action.

No Way Home, the closest thing to a live action spider verse, as cool as it was for the member-berries was a clusterfukk. All of the live action Sony movies since SM 2 have been wack af.

Compare Tasm 1 and 2, Morbius, venom 1 and 2, that kraven and madam web bullshyt, which all are “spiderverse” films and there is no comparison.

And No Way Home was easily the most Sony influenced Tom Holland film in the crossover and easily the weakest film.

Talk to me when Miles goes live action and doesn’t suck.

If Marvel wasn't brave enough to drop two official classics in a row because live-action was what they felt was more palatable to mainstream audiences...just say that.

Spider-verse in two films broke new ground while also not sacrificing quality.

Animation isn't a lesser form of cinema and that implication needs to get tossed out the window.

Sony understanding that comic books work better as animated films doesn't absolve Marvel of their lack of insight of that very same truth.

The better films are the better films, wholesale.

The first spider verse movie was legit. Couldn't get through the second.

Haven’t seen the spiderverse movies and not a lot of mcu by choice but from what I see the character development is far superior in spiderverse and I like that they aren’t under that evil Disney-Marvel umbrella so I feel like they have more liberties to be creative. U have to cater to Chinese once you’re under Disney.

The bold isn't what I was implying at all.

Using DC as an example, The Flashpoint Paradox is a classic and technically better than any DC film ever but only contrarians harp on that comparison because you can't truly compare...not because Animation is lesser, but because it's a different medium with different limitations, potentials and advantages. The Spot is a character you couldn't even begin to make look good or function properly in live action.

The MCU's entire appeal is comic to live action adapatation. The OG Avengers wouldn't have hit the same if we weren't collectively in awe of those characters coming to LIFE in a way we hadn't seen before.

By the time we get to Spider-verse films Marvel has made what seemed rare or impossible into routine on that front. Everyone is trying to copy the formula, including Sony with it's off-brand shyt and L&M decide to take a different route and it payed off in a huge way.
