Yea man. Dude has like the top selling jersey and gets highlight plays.
And he's a subpar-to-mediocre basketball player who is well beyond his prime. Trust me, I understand the impact it was for him to come out, especially in sports, but now we are judging his work based on something that has no bearing on his work?
That seems like the polar opposite of equality to me.
LOL...Collins' story was of national interest because of its historic nature. Its not as if sports talk was legitimately debating whether he was an MVP candidate. You're not entitled to your own reality, man. If you havent noticed most national news agencies and mediums (sans fox news) are sensitive to issues of maligned groups, and are very clear in not wanting to come across as encouraging bigotry.
Aren't people born gay?

"Bu bu bu there is no such thing as a gay agenda!" - Typical Liberal
No, actually it seems like your were trying to obfuscate it.
You asked, "But what do professions have to do with Irishness?". These professions are what uplifted the Irish people in NY and elsewhere in this country from squalor. These professions are also the backbone of a the city. It's pretty meaningful and obvious why they would be marching there.
I'm not understanding your reply as it relates to my original post. I understand that it was historic for him to come out and then to play in one of the major 4 sports. I have no issue with that. Now what does that have to do with judging the results of his work by his sexual orientation? That I don't understand. Care to explain?
Ahki, why are you defending the sodomites?im saying though, can the Gays not participate in the celebration? So you're saying no non irish people should be allowed in the festivities? To be hoenst I didnt read what they tried to do in the parade, but if it was just having a float or whatever, I dont see the big deal. Getting wasted to the point of defecating everywhere isnt in the wiki breh
Collins just got extended for the season, when I'm sure there are a large number of heterosexual players who are better than him, but are denied a chance to play in the NBA all because while they're more talented than Collins, they are unfortunately heterosexual. Do you have a problem with people being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation?I didnt notice any attempt to over-inflate Collins' skill level or ability on any sort of consistent basis. The narrative was that he was a fringe player who happened to be making a historical moment. For goddness sakes, he was on a 10 day contract, and when he came out people were cognizant that it was his lack of ability that kept him out of the league, not anti-gay bias.
