Nothing changes. If we look at the military situation of the rebels they are in bad shape. The Damascus they are besieged and will soon be sent to Idlib. The Hama rebel offensive stalled. They launched an offensive in Latakia that failed. They lost Aleppo city but control the countryside but there are rumors that once Assad is done with ISIS in East Aleppo and Deir Ezzor that there will be a major offensive in the Aleppo countryside against the Islamist rebels there. These strikes will not change the military game on the ground. If anything these strikes will bring Russia and Iran closer to finish off the rebels. Russia may send more jets and Iran may send more Shia volunteers from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan along with Iranian volunteers. to boost the regime.

Obama told this nikka chemical weapons was a red line. He used them and nothing happened.
Trump said this crossed a red line and shouted there were consequences. No boots on the ground, no commitments, none of that bullshyt... Just a demonstration that actions have consequences. Between this and talk on separating investment and commercial banking Trump is starting to not look like a complete fukking idiot. This was the right move imo
