I think you greatly underestimate how much the voting block responsible for putting trump in office just fell apart tonight.

On top of that I find it funny how you say nothing would happen, even though if enough came together he would actually be subject to impeachment proceedings.

CNN said that Pence and a few others contacted like two dozen members of Congress right before the attacks. I'm sure most of them will support Trump against any opposition and their numbers will gain as talks continue.
