What is this? An incentive to buy used games which are conveniently 54.99?
They are, gamestop is the definition of a reactive company. They saw used games as the future.
Instead of building up their install base through new ways they instead fell back on Hot Topic kitsch crap.
Everyone of their locations should have followed japan and went full game cafe / used games.
Technically they used to be a haven for trying out games and embracing that used game market during the Funcoland days. It's like they lost what truly made them great from the start. All they had to do was go back to the basics, downsize, and focus hard on the core demographic that go for retro/used games for collecting purposes. Instead, they got greedy and big headed on their success that they were truly blind by the beast of digital gaming. Now it's coming full circle and it's a bit too late to fix up the fukk up. The writing was on the wall when they started selling used DVDs and cell phone bullshyt
