Not GoT numbers no, especially when they do 2 or 3 shows, I doubt most people want to watch it.
Hell, I've read the books twice, watched the first 5 seasons three times, read the lorebooks & Dunk and Egg and I still feel like I'm not gonna watch it

Nothing is going to do peak GoT numbers. The question is if their spinoffs will be the biggest draws for Max subs every year when a new season drops.

Even half of GoT numbers would be by far the most watched show on HBO. Having a few spinoffs that capture a modest portion of the GoT audience would help fill out their seasonal catalog.

Which book are you on? I'm actually thinking about doing a full reread, including all side stories.
And yeah, not sure if it's touched on in the main series but in the Esslemont books it is told that Emperor Kellanved is black. Add Kalam and Quick Ben and you got some of the major powerplayers,not including the characters belonging to the Tiste.

Malazan: Book of the Fallen. It's a book series that is so epic in scope it makes the ASOIAF lore seem like child's play. The main series is 10 books and after that there are at least ten more in the same universe.
