very true. why change jeyne, and give so much time to ros? not that she gets so much screen time but i dont get why we have her character at all.

also, where the fukk is the greatjon?? where are the mormont ladies riding with robb? where is robett glover? when robb heads north, he sends robett glover and the mormont ladies to greywater watch to find howland reed, who is the only person that knows the truth about jon snow. how are they gonna bring in howland reed without that storyline? they probably wont bring him in at all.

sometimes i wish i hadnt read the books cause we are kind of spoiled lol. i wish i was just a surprised tv viewer that didnt know how much we are missing. :wtb:

Care to refresh my memory on this? How does Reed know that? What truth are we talking about?(if it's revealed in ADWD nevermind lol)

nah its revealed even before adwd. i think ned actually reveals it cause he talks about the tower of joy. ned and 4 more northerners including howland reed show up to the tower of joy where lyanna is being held and they fight 3 kingsguard to save her. it was 5 against 3 and only ned and howland reed survive. idk if u familiar with the jon snow theory so ima put it in spoilers, read at ur own risk lol

after ned and howland reed survive the fight with the 3 kingsguard, ned goes up and finds his sister in a bed of blood. the last words she says to him are "promise me ned, promise me" and then she dies. there is a theory(a strong one) that what she asked ned to promise her was to take care of the baby she just gave birth to (jon snow). so the theory is that jon snow's real parents are rhaegar targaryen and lyanna stark and ned stark passed him off as his b*stard to protect him from robert. howland reed is the only person alive who knows if this is true cause he was there with ned.

they mention it vaguely here and there thats why...its GRRM's tricks to throw us off and tell us at the same time. The book is so huge, theres clues all over the place but very short, vague, and far apart.

See that's one of the changes I don't get. Like the Asha/Yara thing. Why not have Jeyne Westerling, how would that have been any different budget wise ?

I'd be interested to hear what explanations the writers have for some of those tweaks. Cause Jeyne hardly says anything in the book, so it makes no sense to me how they're making up characters (useless ones in the grand scheme of things), like her (whetever her name is) or Ros, and those made up characters are taking more air time than some real characters that we'd love to see more of :dwillhuh:

It's only a ten-episode season, so every scene counts, so fukk Robb's bytch and give us more Roose/Ramsey Bolton :whoo:

I guess they switched up her background because to introduce yet another House/Family would have been confusing? But that kills a bunch of interesting storylines later on.:stopitslime:

I think they also wanted to play up her and her relationship w/Robb so the impact of later events hits a little harder for the viewers. Unfortunately I don't think its working. I thought that random scene w/her and the Lannister twins from last week was pretty much filler.

I read the first 3 books in 2005. watching the show once Ned started beefing with Robert over trying to merk khaleezi .I was like why isn't Ned as blood thirsty as Robert. It was His sister, whom he was very close with I went back and Re-read Ned chapters . It all clicked for me :merchant::ohhh::mindblown:

I thought it was filler too, but after reading online, its likely a set up for Karstark murdering them as revenge for his sons.

Question for book buffs. Since Talisa is the one that marries Robb does that kill
the Jeyne Westerling pregancy theory?

Yeah, good point. We'll see how it plays out, I was barely paying attention during the scene almost missed they were Lannisters.

Not to mention we didn't see Robb meeting and falling for that dizzy Westerling broad, but they put it in the show. Outside of budget, no reason to not show the Fist of the First Men battle.

I'd rather them skip that battle to get a proper battle at the Wall...Giants, Mammoths, Donal Noye trading right hooks with nikkas in the tunnel, nikkas getting burned alive on the staircase, huge arrow volleys, Jon commanding hundreds...i want THAT more than i want the fist of the first men battle...

I don't think anything that happens on the show necessarily indicates whether any theories are true or not.
