How could Rome have run for seven seasons if Caesar died at the end of Season 1? They were supposed to devote one season to Julius Casesar and six(?) to boring ass Augustus despite the so-called pax Augusta being a relatively boring period in Roman history compared to the century that preceeded it?

And Purefoy's character died so why would he care if the show got cancelled after that?

After Ceaser died Rome had another Civil war. There were tons of stories they could have gotten from that also it was a pretty interesting time with all the killings.

Oh I know the history of the second triumvirate breh. I just think it would be weird to have a show about the late Roman Republic where Caesar appears in 1/7th of the series. He's by far the most interesting person from that time period, and they wrapped up his entire war with Pompey and reign as Dictator in one season.

I would have been pissed off if that show ran 7 seasons after only getting 1 season of the gawd.

They had written three seasons based in Jerusalem iirc.

But I agree, 7 seasons is retarded. No show should go on for that long. It finished before it was supposed to but it worked out for the best. Not as if it was a 'Firefly' or something.

:manny: I think Augustus is way more interesting then Caesar. I mean he does accomplish what Caesar could not and dude could not even fight.

He was definitely a more accomplished politician but him subtly :win: in the Senate on that "i'm merely first among equals" shyt would make for some dull TV to me compared to Caesar :bustback:on the world.

I think it's good it ended when it did :ld: I could never accept that new Octavian they cast anyway, the lil curly haired breh from Season 1 was way better

i like the idea of melisandre meeting up with the brotherhood. it actually ties together stannis storyline with others in the series, and also it gives gendry a bigger role by cutting out edric storm. this is a change that i applaud, i cant wait to see her interaction with thoros and beric

:manny: I ain't mad.

Should have treated the show separate from the books since season 2 breh. That's what I did.

Like I said before, I think the books and show are going to reach similar a conclusion to the story but they will differ in ways on getting there.
