400 years is a long time playboy. George Washington’s grandfather wasn’t even alive 400 years ago. That’s how long that broad been around. I doubt she stayed a slave for even 30 years. I’m not saying that character is her. I don’t know but they got an easy opening to bring her back.

They chose to do a show on those 7 chapters so they should’ve fleshed it out ORRRR picked another story. This shyt is just skipping past what feel like bigger moments and the characters have little to no depth. Absolutely no one here cares that aemma, Leana, the strongs and the crab breh have died because no storyline or character exposition was given to them. I was more sad Sansa’s direwolf, Lady, got killed in 3 episodes than I am about a black female dragon rider dying
, no one empathizes with cole because he went from knight to simp to sworn enemy in 8 minutes of screen time. if you actively choose a thin story to do a show from, then it’s your job to flesh it out, otherwise make a movie and GTFO

What's SUPER crazy is someone was talking about that Denzel, horse story from the submarine movie in this thread... Then an episode later, V starts dropping a story about black and white horses lol.. Those seasons didn’t suck because they made shyt up, they sucked because they rushed thru the shyt they made up and completely assassinated and deconstructed the story arc of damn near every major character in the process

I thought Aerys called Jamie to the kingsguard to spite Tywin for talking slick. This meant that Tywin’s heir couldn’t inherit Casterly Rock or give him kids. Didn’t Tywin resign as hand of the king as a result of how mad he was?
Wasn’t Aerys smashing Tywin’s wife too?
I didn’t read the books btw, this is just shyt I’ve heard over the years.

The last part of your post answers the 1st part. Like Marlo said “My name is my name”. It’s the same with these particular families. If they acknowledge those fukk ups or short comings it stains the family rep. Rhae giving it up to a KG and having b*stard kids, Coryls’ son being gay would bring shame on those houses. Alicent not being politically deft and Daemons’ daughter not riding a dragon yet obviously aren’t bad at all compared to those other 2 but I can see how the fathers would not want those spotlighted as well.
I read the main novels, but not the stories associated with House of the Dragon. So this is not a spoiler for the show.
From what I remember, the Mad King had a thing for Tywin's wife and was rumored to have sexually abused her during the bedding ceremony when she got married to Tywin. She was eventually banished from the court after that by the queen (Aerys's wife/Dany's mother) because of jealousy. I don't think they ever saw each other again until a ceremony years later where the Mad King insulted her body after having kids. I believe this was also after Cersei had already pulled strings into getting Jamie into the Kingsguard. All of this snowballed to the point that Tywin quit as hand of the king. I think some time after that, Tyrion was born & Joanna Lannister died in childbirth.
There was/is a popular theory that Tyrion is secretly a Targaryen & is the result of Aerys raping Joanna Lannister when they saw each other & he body shamed her. I don't really buy into that theory though
