What he should have done when Daemon pushed over the line with one of his stunts looking for attention: send two companies of crossbowmen into the Dragonpit and have them come back with Caraxes' head.

Everybody falls in line. Make more examples as necessary. Because it will be necessary

Societal norms or cultural expectations =/= The Law. The kings word is ultimately the law. Vis chose Rhae as his heir and he told her and everyone else that it's on periodt. So anyone going out of their way to undermine or challenge the Kings choice is treasonous. Alicent is manic and overstepping. She's still wearing Hightower colors as a sign of rebellion against the house of Targaryen, she planting seeds of discord amongst the children and she is conspiring with Sir Simpalot all because Rae had a hot girl summer 10 fukking years ago. She needs to be mad at Otto and not Rhae for how her life turned out.

As much as I understand Alicent’s predicament, this is facts. Otto really really screwed his daughter over.

Alicent’s fear does make some sense though. As you said the King’s word is absolute so the moment Rhaenyra sits on the throne, she could off anyone at anytime. Which makes it that much more annoying that Alicent didn’t take Rhaenyra up on the wedding offer. That would decrease the chance of Rhaenyra killing her son if their other children are married. So, while her fear/paranoia makes sense, her ways of dealing with that problem do not.

That ep truly restored the feeling. I will say tho...I still don't think they put in the legwork to truly make the time jump hit as well as it could have. All of these characters - Laenor, Harwin, Larys, etc - were thrust into becoming important characters yet their screentime before tonight was very limited. There could have been more scenes with them, especially Larys. Going from just "oh hey he's in the Godswood, and now he's at the wedding feast" last week to becoming fukking Michael Corleone tonight is wild. I think he could have used more scenes, earlier in the season. There would have been a dinner between the king and Lyonel Strong, alongside his sons. Good simple way to get everyone on screen right quick...and could have been done 3-4 episodes ago.

Same with Harwin, who my mom didn't even know was supposed to be someone she remembered last ep. To go from just being the guy who helped save Rhae at the feast to being her alleged lover, and then to immediately die...that's not good writing IMO.

All that being said I thought the episode in of itself was really good.
agreed, we went from Rhae flirting with her uncle to, smashing cole to 3 babies by Harwin...and Leana on baby 3 from Daemon...and a whole ass new daughter for Alicent. I know they jumped 10 years to switch actors, but they needed at least an episode in between to showcase the initial intrigue behind Rhaenerya's first dark hair kid, her affair with harwin, larys getting into fukkery and his motivations, the relationship between Daemon and Leana and wtf they been doing and how/why they were in pentos, and what alicent been doing since "declaring war", how is she using cole?

At this point, people are forcing the narrative that this is on the level of GOT, it's not. It is however entertaining, but while I was joking about #chaosset in episode 1, i truly am here for the chaos cuz this doesn't feel much like a character driven show. I don't truly care about any of them and they all suck

Why kill a dragon over some bullshyt?

Two things.

One, your blood is out here flouting your word...and everyone is watching. You either apply an object lesson or everyone gets in on the action thinking they can play you. It's an expensive object lesson, sure. The harsh ones last longest. Especially when it's your blood, because people then know you're not playing partial.

Two, dragons imprint on their riders. You try it the other way around and put Daemon's head on a spike, and now you have a pissed-off dragon lurking around to deal with. Easier/more practical to take out the dragon, dress Daemon in hosiery and let him walk laps around Flea Bottom.

Object lesson for everyone.

Feels like Alicent just mad Rhaenyra got to fukk around and she didn't. All this vim is :dahell:

I get that she's scared for her kids but she was bestfriends with Rhaenyra and her son is Rhaenyra's sibling. The kid is a coli JBO degenerate and doesn't even want the throne. Spark up a deal with Rhaenyra for comfortable exile somewhere when she ascends to the throne and keep it pushing

Also, Laena's bendwench bending cured Daemon's erectile dysfunction :mjpls:

I like how they show what a healthy relationship with dragons looks like as opposed to the unhealthy relationship that Dany had, calling them her children and all that jazz.

That plus the fact that dragons are supposed to get training. And there's many more commands that you can give them besides dracarys.

Speaking of, they show that the dragons know these commands because of their training. How did Danys dragons know that dracarys meant to spit fire? :jbhmm:
I think Dany was taught Old Valyrian by her teachers/servants..I can't remember.

Good question...maybe it's embedded in them. Instincts or some shyt...

Rhae has not said anything about killing anyone. The only person who thinks like that is Alicent and Otto. It's really weird how they are acting

I THOUGHT THAT TRAINING
WAS THE MORE SO OF THE DRAGONS
BECOMING FAMILIAR WITH THEIR
OWNERS VOICE/COMMANDS....

NOT THEM TEACHING THE DRAGONS
WHAT DRACARYS MEANS.

LIKE IM SURE DAEMON CANT
COMMAND HIS WIFES DRAGON
TO BURN ANYTHING.
