If this shyt is gonna be a heads-up thing between QBs they might as well give it after the SB

Right, and nobody can doubt that Mahomes is elite but you see how that offense struggles without a Tyreek Hill there. Anddddddd his numbers are not nearly as good as Purdy's or Tua's but it's because he has no weapons. Can't have it both ways.

I think it's less about Tyreek not being there and more about MVS falling off and not having JuJu as a reliable possession receiver. Without Tyreek last year, they were the no.1 O, Mahomes was the MVP and they won the SB.

Are they already building his bust in Canton?

I never said Purdy was an elite QB. I said he isn't a game manager and hasn't been since he got here. I showed all of the stats and some of the plays that prove he hasn't been "dipping and dunking" and you watch every Niner game like I do, right? So you should know what I'm saying is fact.

Brock Purdy leads the league in air yards by a margin.

He leads the league in completion percentage in plays where the ball travels 15 yards.

He leads the league in completion percentage in passes over 20 yards.

Game manager he is NOT hell we used to get mad at him for taking unnecessary risks in the beginning until he showed he could make throws throws pretty regularly.
Brock Purdy is 8th in completed air yards and is first in YAC.

I see what you're saying, but here's my point.

All those weapons don't even matter for the 49ers if Trent goes down because Purdy has not developed enough to withstand that hit. And THATS OK.

But, If a QB like Pat or Lamar or even Tua was on that team, that team is super bowl lock despite injuries due the higher caliber and quality of QB play.

What makes this team go is the offensive scheme and mind of Shanahan. If the 49ers and Chiefs were to swap their ENTIRE OFFENSE, the 49ers would STILL be in this position now because of defense, Supreme QB play, and Offensive scheme.

Realistically, Teams can trade in that 1st round QB pick, focus on drafting more weapons and defensive playmakers, and actually pay them, keeping the offensive unit together for 6+ years.

The fact that the 49ers have all this talent despite trading 3 1st round picks for a 3rd round pick speaks to my theory.
So you acting like Mahomes don't have Andy Reid? Possibly the greatest offensive mind in the history of football? :russ: Man turned every QB into competent to good to great his entire career.

True.

But the gap between Mahomes and Purdy is still incredibly LARGE, no matter how you look at it.

Mahomes on the 49ers with no weapons likely has them in the exact same position.

That speaks to Andy Reids foresight because he was the one that told Kansas City to move up to get him.

Casuals about to be exposed on this one….That’s not the correct usage of ‘game manager’ or ‘losing recipes’ :stopitslime:

Teddy Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor, Trent Difer, Jimmy G…shyt Neil O’Donnell…my man I can go back to any decade you want. These are game managers. And none of them have EVER put up numbers like this.
I don't think those kats had weapons like he does.

Son has a top 3 running back that can catch out of the backfield, an incredibly versatile receiver that's a match-up nightmare, a great O-line, great coach, and another good receiver in Aiyuk...and a great tight end to boot.

nikka is playing with one of the most talented offenses that I've seen.

Not saying he's a game manager, but nikkas like Mahomes are working with ass for the most part. Mahomes on this time might drop 6K yards with 60 touchdowns.

In 2001, Antowain Smith was a 1000 yard rusher averaging four yards per carry with 12 tds rushing and one td receiving. Brady was not carrying the offense with his 18tds and 12 picks. In 2002 Brady didn’t even make the pro bowl and the offensive rankings were bad. Those early patriots teams were based around ball control and defense not Brady’s arm.
1000 yards snd 4 yards a carry are decent numbers, 18 tds and 2 ints. Different era. He made the Pro Bowl with those numbers. And was 4th in passer rating in the entire NFL Also the Patriots were 6th in scoring in 2001, the exact same rank as their scorimg defense. 2002, he didnt make the Pro Bowl because the last 5 games he played with s separated shoulder, which greatly affected his play. He was still 1st in tds and 6th in yards. How were their rankings bad? They were 10th in scoring. Ball control?? Who was controlling the ball then? Wss it top 3 MVP candidate QB or the piss poor running game of 2002 and 2003?? They were 4th in scoring in 2004. 2001-6th, 2002-10th, 2003-12th, 2004-4th
Thats an average of an 8th ranked scoring offense. On defense, 2001-6th, 2002-17th- 2003-1st, 2004-2nd. Sn average of a 6.5th ranked scoring defense. Not as imbalanced as you think.

It kinda don’t matter tho :francis:

Only the elite of the elite can/has done it without weapons. Thats why Brady is the goat and why Mahomes is on his way to #2.

Bc other than that….what does Joe Montana look like without Jerry rice…we don’t know! Not til he was 40. What does Peyton manning look like without Marv, Wayne, and/or Faulk? We don’t know!

So that’s why I’m so steadfast on this one: as a student of the game there’s barely ANY great QBs who don’t also have great weapons. So we not about to itemize for Brock Purdue when nobody else has to deal with it. Jalen Hurts doesn’t. Josh Allen doesn’t. Etc
