Even if a belief you hold near and dear to your heart is shown and proven to be absolute bullshyt, under no circumstances must you abandon said belief. To admit to yourself, or even more importantly, to admit to others that you were wrong, misled, misguided, or imperfect, is to show weakness. And weakness is death.
Always. I repeat. ALWAYS double down whenever your current worldview is challenged. If you believe 1 + 1 = 3, and someone proves to you it equals 2, you're a p*ssy if you accept it. And if you can't prove 1 + 1 = 3, that just means you're not trying hard enough.
I've known about the whole alpha/beta dynamic being horseshyt from inaccurate data collected from studying wolves for years now. Yeah, using the terms in a colloquial sense is fine, but to believe that it legitimately translates into human social interactions as dictated by nature is so laughably absurd it's almost depressing.
