I'm asking because perspective is just one part of what makes up the facts and it can often be skewed and completely false because of life experience. Data and study allow for more detail and can remove the bias we all deal with because of our personal experience.

People thought the earth was flat because of perspective, we know it's a sphere because of science and data.

I've googled this several times and for a talking point that's been used since the 70s its interesting that all the definitive studies I've read about it point to it being false.

But believe what you want, if there is a true human study that isn't based on some guy trying to sell some marketing tool please post it. I'd like to read it.

I mean yeah there's no strong scientific basis. But they do describe real life phenomena albeit in a very simplistic way.

The terms just seem like corny speak for men that are more "manly" and men that aren't manly (and are instead "soft" and sensitive).

We can't act like there aren't distinct pockets of men. I mean, look at how most older male virgins, incels, etc. All have VERY similar traits: social awkwardness, sensitivity, physical weakness, low self-esteem, shyness, low confidence, timidity, etc.

"Alpha" is usually just shorthand term meant to refer to guys who are "the man", usually very confident, assertive, has leadership qualities, isn't too sensitive, usually strong, and is taken seriously and respected by peers. Think of the most popular dude in your high school.

Obviously it changes by context.

In short: alpha is a man that meets most markers of masculinity, and is treated and rewarded as such. (He is respected, and gets perks).

A "beta" is someone who doesn't meet those marks, and thus is either disrespected, ignored, or fails to get any perks.

Just thought I shared cause when I started seeing brehs on here talking that “alpha male/beta male” bullshyt years ago I knew this site was headed to incel/cacland.

Basically the whole “alpha male” thing came from a 1970 paper about how wolf packs are led by “alpha males” who establish dominance through physical aggression.

It has been suggested that this be taken to apply to humans, being that wolves are not that far from humans on the evolutionary tree and exhibit similar social behaviors.

And this concept has been co-opted by white internet losers to create pseudointellectual explanations for their insecurities and failures. It makes it easier and digestible to understand any they don’t get any p*ssy or just are not where they want to be life, or conversely that they’re something special just because they do think they possess “alpha male” traits or aspire to. There is an immutable, predetermined hierarchy of masculinity and that explains everything that is uncomfortable.

Only problem it wasn’t true and the writer of the original paper has detracted it. The wolf pack leaders weren’t wolves who earned leadership by winning fights. They were just the parents.

But they subordinate themselves to him largely because he projects a false aura of strength or masculinity they see lacking in themselves, or under attack from outside forces.
