nikkas really think the white dude was genuine and felt sorry for him? :dahell:
:dahell: No he didn't.

He made a "pilgrimage" to Africa to say sorry. That's not genuine. That's phony white guilt and cultural fetishism. Being a fan of Paperboi isn't "legit love." He just sees his music as a way to explore black ghetto life and hardships. It's another notch on his "I know things about black culture moreso than black people" belt. He's just staying updated.

He felt bad because his wife's rudeness was not only embarrassing but it cost him a chance at getting close to Ern and PB. You know he wanted to set up a meeting so he could school them on hip hop:mjlol:

He was real genuine telling an old black woman she's making her collard greens wrong:comeon:

You might need to watch the episode again and reassess your views:mjpls:

Black people are lost if they're honestly even a little bit flattered and touched by a fictional cac that's obviously supposed to be a parody and a critique against savior "well meaning" cacs. :dead:

You're supposed to hate these phony cacs. It's a parallel to real life cases like Hilary's antics of dancing with black people or putting hot sauce in her bag or Bill playing the sax or Rachel Dolezal. The fact that black people are glued and can't leave the Democratic Party.

If people liked Craig then the genius of this episode goes even further outside of the realm of fiction.

Lmao, whatever dog. I read the whole episode as us hating this white dude only to find out it was the black wife who was actually problematic. Despite all his fukk shyt, he didn't actually do any REAL harm, unlike his wife who looked down on black people not like her. Again, just cause he came off like an a$$hole, doesn't mean that's what he was trying to convey.

U can be down without trying so hard and it comes of as u faking cause u married a black women

He wasn't faking cause he married her, he's always been that way. He's a try hard. Doesn't mean he isn't genuine in his reasons.

Nobody said we liked the dude. Just that we felt bad for hating him so much. He wasn't the "villain" we all thought he was. It was his wife. THAT was the brilliance of the episode. Craig's a dikk, but he actually means well. (STOP BEING SO LIKABLE). His wife seemed alright, but she was actually "racist". Condoned all her husbands fukk shyt instead of schooling him cause she loved the money. Looked down on the help (the valet). Looked down on Paperboi and Earn's passion/career. She was actually the piece of shyt.

:what: You're not supposed to like him or his wife. He got his black trophy wife and she got a sugar daddy. They're both just as bad. There was no redeeming qualities about Craig just because he listens to Paperboi and felt bad for Ern.

Why you keep thinking he's a good guy is beyond me. He's serving food out of slave ships at his party.

Pretty great episode. Great character moments between Earn and Van. Earn and the bartender was funny. Earn pretty much not giving a fukk about Van attempts at this image of them being the perfect couple by hamming it up was great. Honestly we don't need Paper Boi and Darius in every episode. I like that we had episodes where all the major characters get to shine in their own right and interact with each other ( earn and Darius pawn shop mission, paper boi helping out van, Earn and paper boi in holding and this episode with Earn and van to name a few examples).

Not even flexxin either :dead:

The worst part is that he was obviously drawing a parallel between himself and those fictional white savior teacher characters and he thought that was a positive message on his part :dead:

Instead of watching movies that reaffirm his sense of self as a benevolent outsider he could acknowledge that his ignorance of the world his students live in despite being an authoritative figure in their lives is not that different from the role that cops play in their institution :sas1:

He's not a member of his students' community and yet he is given the power to punish them by the (double) standards of his community :sas2: Would he recognize the parents/guardians of his worst "problem student" on the street? How exactly would he expect to be able to level with his students when none of his reality is level with their reality?

Teachers are cogs in the prison industrial complex... Hilariously a lot of the "enlightened" types like your old teacher don't know it because they've never been on the other end of the stick themselves.
