As a fellow mid-80's Baby, I'm so glad I was never big on urban clothes and instead I was always on the Grand Puba hip-hop preppy look of Bugle Boy, Nautica, Polo, Duckhead, etc. Thus,, I never had clothes problems and they had to respect the fresh. Even as a kid I saw how trendy stuff like Fubu was.
Sadly tho, that era depicted on this episode is exactly what caused uniforms to become mandatory. The pressure is even more now because of the social media era.
For the last 15 years I've bought nothing but Ralph Lauren clothes. But since I've lost a gang of weight this past year, I've been giving it all to needy & deserving HS & HBCU college kids to give them some timeless fresh.
Nothing better than to see a kid's face light up when you give them a weeks worth of fly threads and show them pictures of their favorite artists wearing the exact same gear
