Type of girls that go on to get turnt or have kids and be on welfare. The world doesn’t understand them. Parents be in jail or on drugs. Some are sexually or physically abused. Struggling to find shyt to eat or living house to house. Young mental psychy can’t handle all that shyt plus puberty and peer pressure. Sad shyt man.
Indeed man, changes have to be made to address mental illness and even eliminate a lot of those struggles in our society. Teenagers shouldn't have it that rough but it happens and far too often.

it was incredible because it showed just how different life is for black and white people. But whose fault is it? We impose the high, materialistic standards on ourselves to be honest. On some real shyt, there were times i'd go out with my white roommates in college and never did they comment or put down shyt i wear. If anything theyd think i was overdressed for certain occasions. These same white dudes would pull some bad bytches too. White privilege

My nikkas? There were times where if we went out they wouldnt even let me leave the house without changing the fit. To have those grown adults saying how "important" clothes were without knowing what caused the kid's suicide. Very profound...and real. My parents were the same way making us dress up in certain ways for occasions against our will.
Is that really white privilege though?

I think whites and blacks are just raised and taught different. Or at least culturally.

Black music praises these labels, cars and brands this making kids aspire and chase that shyt.

I never hear white music doing that.

This episode really hammers home the point to me that I have no background relation to Donald Glover and his brother.
The world he grew up in is so different to mine and its strange being that I'm the same age and grew up in Alabama.

I just watched the episode where they was suppose to perform at a college.

I went to UGA and that shyt accurate :russ:

White folks don’t be knowing shyt about all the major black parties.

They’ll smoke u out and give u free alcohol all day too.

Shoulda had a white girl come and assume they were all athletes.

Ian see the episode with the school clothes guess fx show shyt a week late I gotta find it

Loved this episode, I never thought any episode this season would top Teddy Perkins as my favorite but FUBU comes close.

Even though I'm 26 and by the time I started middle school (03) FUBU was irrelevant but Roc - A - Wear, Sean John, etc was still poppin, I got roasted for having high water jeans once, and wearing a south pole shirt in 05 but other than that nikkas never roasted me due to my clothes... I got roasted for other things I won't mention pretty badly in 7th and 8th grade though. High School was a cake walk socially, I never got roasted not even once and I never got fresh in HS and pretty much had one pair of sneakers the entire school year.

Back to the 6th grade, back in 03/04 this store called Fat Albert near Woodhull hospital in Brooklyn, NY used to sell Roc A Wear and Sean John shirts cheaper than stores like Jimmy Jazz, etc sold them, so I got several Roc A Wear and Sean John shirts from that store  nikkas never pressed me to see if it was fake but now that I think about it, those name brand clothes being so cheap at the time may have been too good to be true :patrice:

As a fellow mid-80's Baby, I'm so glad I was never big on urban clothes and instead I was always on the Grand Puba hip-hop preppy look of Bugle Boy, Nautica, Polo, Duckhead, etc. Thus,, I never had clothes problems and they had to respect the fresh. Even as a kid I saw how trendy stuff like Fubu was.

Sadly tho, that era depicted on this episode is exactly what caused uniforms to become mandatory. The pressure is even more now because of the social media era.

For the last 15 years I've bought nothing but Ralph Lauren clothes. But since I've lost a gang of weight this past year, I've been giving it all to needy & deserving HS & HBCU college kids to give them some timeless fresh.

Nothing better than to see a kid's face light up when you give them a weeks worth of fly threads and show them pictures of their favorite artists wearing the exact same gear:obama:.

We had the same thing happen in middle school except the kid was white. He was a semi popular guy, he played multiple sports including football but he killed himself and his suicide was blamed on his parents divorce or because he didn't like his new stepmom. In high-school another kid I knew this time he was black killed himself I actually had a class with him I remember he used to try really hard to be seen or noticed, some kind of way he found himself at odds with this bad crew, like dudes ran deep all of them were cousins, one got shot and he wasn't even in high school but campus security was all over the next day. Anyway whatever he did he wound up becoming on site status for jumpings from them and he eventually killed himself.
