You’re acting like you just discovered some groundbreaking informationI was thinking that albums now almost HAVE to come with some kinda of diva esque dramatic reality tv shyt, to keep the convo going past the music.
Don't doubt there is some level of genuine "tension", whatever that means - but the capitalization of it by Future and Metro is excellent marketing.
of course controversy has always sold, but in this era, you get some eyes on you, then the social media fall out and reaction, then the memes, then the responses to the memes, then the clickbait articles that follow THAT, and then your album stays in the public eye for longer.
one of the tricks of social media, which I think it is clear here, is that it will force people to choose a side, which fuels engagement. That's what we are seeing here.
Also, reminds me of the way people watch Netflix or Marvel movies, for "easter eggs".You’re acting like you just discovered some groundbreaking information
True. Also, reminds me of the way people watch Netflix or Marvel movies, for "easter eggs".
Of course that's known, but can you think of a rap album, recently or semi recently that hit this hard on this exact angle? I learn a lot from this site, but I could have listened to this whole album and not really seen the Drake references. it's kind of a social media thing right? You have to get some base knowledge from there. and then that makes the album more and more interesting.
Drake's last one, he did some weird diva "I'm stepping back" and then hit back right away with a deluxe version, which was odd.
Kanye def. didn't on the Vultures, that was kind of conflict free for Kanye.
But metro dropped his album, the Spiderman joint and this since his mom passed and all three are fukking fire, what the fukk are you even taking about lmao
Future fans are probably worst than Drake fans at this point they refuse to acknowledge this nikkas monotony.
