and no a smartphone or a tablet isn't a proper substitute for a desktop/laptop when someone needs to learn.

This just tells me you'd let your kids fail in school:francis: Failing wasn't an option in my household, my parents took no excuses.

There are ways around everything yet y'all keep coming up with excuses. A smartphone is great, I used it to supplement my College math courses. There was also the library I used from time to time.

My pops always called them the "Quick-to-Quit" types. People who throw their hands up at the slightest of problems rather than looking for solutions. Libraries are a thing in every community and often have WiFi access and computers to use. The local community center might offer resources as well for students with tech access issues. There are options, especially in a metropolitan city.

But according to the coli, your kids should've failed class and been behind because of the pandemic.:ohhh:

I'm willing to bet coli parents that have kids in school are doing just fine even after the pandemic.
@Paper Boi
My youngest daughter struggled a lot at first because she was in 4th - 6th for the heart of the pandemic and it broke my heart we had to rock her to sleep crying a few nights because she was struggling, thought it was her fault and she really loves math

So we got her a tutor and the whole house helped her get back on track

She’s good now

It still boils down to the parents and the culture those parents instill in the kids.
Excelling schools don't have to worry about parent engagement as much because the kids themselves aren't as bad, aren't coming to school hungry, aren't having all kinds of dumb shyt like learning sexy red lyrics reenforced in the household. Any positive progress a bad school district teacher has in a given day is probably reversed soon as those kids go home to be neglected and raised by the worst elements of social media, tv, and rap
What about the culture in the schools/buildings? Kids are at school in a lot of cases more than they're with their parents. There are examples nationwide where districts are holding their students to a high standard and doing great things. (districts that are predominantly black)

Here's a superintendent in Georgia who turned a district around... 43 schools, over 25K students and 80% of them with free or reduced lunch

I went to an education conference earlier this month and a school district in the STL area was highlighted for their achievements. Black kids flying planes by 17 years old.
