This is insanity! These are our children and the next generation. We can’t afford to have all these children sent out into the world unprepared
They are prepared, they're prepared for jail. Its the school to prison pipeline. Its unfortunate but it's the reality. We don't make education cool in the black community and it shows.

Who's to blame for this? At this point it is what it is. They not my kids

I blame COVID. It basically set back kids 2 years in schooling, especially poor kids who couldn't afford tools for virtual learning (laptop, zoom etc.).

What happened right after 2012 that caused such a sharp drop in reading and math.

How do you go from an all-time high too damn near an all time low in 10 years
First thing that comes to mind is smartphones became popular around that time..... but that's wayy too simple an answer. Maybe kids raised by Gen X started entering the education system around that time. Gen X parents weren't as strict.

Who would've thought exchanging fathers for govt welfare, food stamps, section 8, homosexuality and abortions would produce communities of cannon fodder, unproductive idiots and crash test dummies. :damn: :mjpls:

Even in the heart of Jim Crow, black folk valued education

I've said it before, once the black boomers transition its a wrap...straight up permanent underclass status:mjcry:

Meanwhile next week is the 1st, instead of helping their kids with their hw, the parents will prepare for the weekly dumbass relationship debates (50/50, divesting, leading/protection) :mjlol::snoop:

The system needs to be addressed. If kids in 13 schools failed the test then the teaching methods need to be reformed.

Parents need to be more involved in their children's education though.

Khan Academy is damn good. There's also youtubers like patrickjmt. He's one of the goat mathematicians that make shyt so easy.

KA been around for so long anyone with half a brain trying to help their kid would find it by accident. These public schools are worthless, the parents don't care, and the teachers ain't shyt. Just an L for everyone involved.

This is clearly a STRUCTURAL issue. You can just pin it to the parents.

Black people are ealing with systemic issue and answer can only be found in a systemic way. Individualistic bootstrap talk won't be enough.

Black people need to wake up NOW.

It's just excuses, freed slaves and victims of segregation went to become successful and rise above their circumstances....

But avoiding responsibility is in style...
Freed slaves had certain virtues that many black people today don't have. They had a family structure, they had a certain cultural environment, etc.

to sum it up, they had INSTITUTONS that make it possible for the average individual in a group to act right.

Those institutions have been wiped out.

It's not about personal accountability. It's deeper than that.
