That zero children at 13 schools stat sounds very sensationalist. We're talking hundreds of kids failing the same test?:stopitslime:

That said, as someone from a family of educators who has worked in the system, there is a massive contingent of kids from homes who's parents/guardians spit on education and teaching basic ass manners. I mean LARGE chunks. It only takes two or three kids to derail the learning in a class without being removed or harshly reprimanded. Imagine entire communities of kids like that.

You gotta have good paying jobs that allow those parents to be at home in the 1st place.

And I don't mean that UPS type of money. You'd be too tired to blink even if you were home at a decent hour.
And if the failure starts from there let’s just say it .

If a parent is in a struggle you need to do whatever it is you have to do make sure your kids don’t fail in the same manner

In our communities there are cycles of failure that are continuously being repeated. Whatever the cause may be . If you have to move earth to make sure your kid will be successful you have to do it .

What happened right after 2012 that caused such a sharp drop in reading and math.

How do you go from an all-time high too damn near an all time low in 10 years

There is nothing more important than parental engagement .

They are the tone setters from day 1 ,they build the foundation.
So a school district is supposed to have an approach and strategy for each student's success based on parental engagement?

Each house hold is different, you cannot depend on every family having their shyt together to effectively teach kids. You know why? Because it's unrealistic. Teachers and parents should have a relationship and communication on what is going on, but if the parents don't give a fukk, what is the teacher supposed to do? Just chuck the kid's development in the bushes?

Something I notice in communities who care about education - the parents are shamed when their kid does and acts poorly. It's taken as a reflection on them.

If you put a hood mother in an area with a filled of snooty elitist people, best believe she'll get that kid in check academically.

The problem is when the other parents equally have no shame and are all a part of the same community. Then it becomes a whole bunch of enablers.
That's when standards nosedive.

People fear public shame. Absolutely fear it. Got to use that as a motivating factor to do better.
There was recently a video of a set out in Inglewood posting a video of them doing hood shyt they were proud of.
They got clowned so hard in the comments that they took the video down.

This type of shame with everyone failing doesn't hit those parents that hard or embarrassing because they've all failed - nobody takes it personally.
It's like when you know other people didn't do their homework so you don't feel bad for not doing yours. The penalty gets spread around.
Now if Drake or somebody got on stage and clowned them in front of everyone for their kid being stupid, they'd probably start getting their kid all types of tutoring because now their neighbors (who's kids also got low grades) are laughing at them because Drake clowned them.

Us humans are funny like that.

It had to be asked.:manny:

There's no way all these Baltimore schools are 100% Black.
Maybe not 100%, but Baltimore itself is 62% Black and in the vast majority of cities minorities will be overrepresented in public school systems.

And for Asians specifically, they are 3% of Baltimore proper. Highly doubt they're represented in Baltimore public schools.

Probably 80/10/10 Black/White/Latino.

This is false. Plenty of kids come from poor backgrounds, both parents working to eventually put their kids through college
