The point of the film's is the absurdity. The over the top action.

I get that. It's why I keep going to see these movies. But that absurdity has a breaking point that they've started to cross more and more frequently.

Secondly, vin diesel is the center of the franchise. Suggesting he's dragging the franchise down when people love his character, and the main selling point of the film was his character and why he had turned shows a further lack of understanding of what makes the franchise what it is.

I don't care what makes them successful financially. To me, he's dragging down the quality of the films. They've moved on to campy, crazy action and he's attempting to add pathos. It just doesn't work for me. Statham and Johnson have a much better feel for what this franchise has evolved into.

I also don't buy that his character, or the plot at all, are why people turn out for these movies.

Which just brings us back to my original response.

Honestly don't think you understand the franchise or its appeal.

Fate of the Furious’ Rules the Box Office Again as ‘Unforgettable’ and ‘The Promise’ Bomb.

The Fate of the Furious is racing to defend its title at the top of the box office, while a number of new releases including The Promise and Unforgettable are being left in the dust.

Universal's eighth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise proved to be a global box office titan when it opened last weekend to a record-shattering $532.5 million. This time around looks to tell mostly the same story—while domestic grosses slipped 61% from its first to second weekend, the movie is still easily topping the box office with $38.7 million from 4,329 locations.

But slipping domestic earnings (and lower U.S. grosses than Furious 7, which pulled over $250 million in its first two weekends versus Fate's current sum of $163.6 million) are majorly overshadowed by the movie's international appeal. A bankable, diverse cast including Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron is leading the film, directed by F. Gary Gray, to a two-frame global total of $744.8 million and worldwide sum of $908.4 million.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
What's up with the Subaru placement in this movie. LOL

It was a great fukkin' movie.

Gary Gray did a greatly amazing job directing this.

The story line was on point.

Action sequences insane (yes, The Transporter stealed the show, for show).

Humor was too enjoyable (i love corny jokes, so you know how my screws get chewed)>

Plot twist was fukkin' great. Did NOT SEE THAT COMING! (word to Stevie). Haha at Helen Mirror.

For the genre... solid 4.6 out of 5 and easily top 2 Furious movie in the franchise.

Tyrese got jokes. LOL!
