then you must be a fukking idiot if you thought Sandra Bullock played Danny's wife.

Star Wars didn't flop until Solo.

If Ocean's 8 is a flop, so are the 12 and 13.

Alita - are you really blaming it because it starred a woman? Not the fact it's a relatively unknown manga/anime? :mjlol:

MIB - a sequel without Will smith no one asked for, not because Tessa's in it. What's your excuse for ID4 2's flop?

Star Wars didn't flop until Solo. :stopitslime:FoH, Star wars been weak since before solo..from what i hear fans started duckin out early when the new trilogy dropped.

If Ocean's 8 is a flop, so are the 12 and 13.:gucci: A flop is a Flop nikka, i said the new oceans flick. And if i wanted to go there for the sake of arguing. Id say the franchise was doa after 13 right? Then Why try and revive with Females?...because girl power is whats hot right now and it didn't work....hold ya breath for the sequel dummy ..soon come:mjpls:
Alita - are you really blaming it because it starred a woman? Not the fact it's a relatively unknown manga/anime? :mjlol:I already said how i feel about Alita..my bad on that one:hubie:

MIB - a sequel without Will smith no one asked for, not because Tessa's in it. What's your excuse for ID4 2's flop?

You're moving goal posts. For all intents and purposes Star Wars did not flop until Solo. Force Awakens did gangbusters. Rogue One did well, TLJ did well too, despite the lukewarm fan response.

Solo was the first SW film to flop, which in turn stopped future spin offs.

I'm pointing out that Oceans 8 didn't flop relative to it's budget, if you think the sequels to 11 were hits, then 8 was a hit.

MIB - why are you blaming it on her? Movie would still be ass if they substituted her out with a rando guy. It failed not because of her but because the script sucked, plot was predictable, no will. You think Hemsworth carried it? He was wack in it too.

Nah i think Hemsworth and his bumbling jock routine is killing his career, so it wasnt Tessa fault entirely. I said her to enforce my point that inserting a woman into a spot traditionally held by a man is always going to met with resistance....flop was the wrong word, i guess. If only because a film could make back a low budget and not be "Technically" be considered a failure. Fan backlash is probably the more appropriate term. Like the breh said in the thread everybody gets their time to shine, this is theirs....but from what i see, the films i mentioned are just stepping up to the plate and Bunting the ball and running to 1st base... if they lucky.... But aint nobody knocking it out the park, homerun style...well except for Captain Carol of course

When it's forced it is noticable and comes off as corny and unnatural. It can and has been done right in the past though.

It only gets on my nerves when they feel like they have to make all the male characters idiots or simps next to the ultra heroic women.

This is more like it. Girl power itself is fine, but this ain't it.

If its done right and it just plays organically its actually dope. Ive even written some fem-pro stuff myself.. We have the blueprints, why we not seeing cool stories with badass chicks gettin busy like that anymore?

The problem is now youve got these new age femenist extremists with inferiority complexes up in the Hollywood war rooms helping to write these stories. For some reason they think all men hate to see women do cool shyt or something so they have to overcompensate and "get back at us".... The result is some forced corny clunky attempt to try and show up every male character on screen for "sociopolitical" reasons and it just looks silly and contrived

:heh:Also sidenote, when's the last time we seen a classic intense bone-crushing girl fight on screen? Like fr how dope would a film with action scenes like Safehouse or The Raid but its girls vs girls? Why they always dolo or working together to give some evil bodybuilder dudes the work? Switch it up

That's bullshyt, the entire trope of damsel in distress is built on the idea of women constantly needing to be saved. That's been a thing since forever and was the basic premise of most Disney princess movies and action movies until the 90's. It still happens occasionally in the 2000's.
Yea it happens occasionally but not every movie i can’t just remember off the top of my head but it’s movies where secondary female characters put in hella work on their own without the hero.

Usually when they are main characters their male characters can’t do a damn thing.
