I found a topical finasteride and minoxidil solution so I'll probably jump on that and take dutasteride either every other day or every three days.

Going on 4 months so far after being on fin for a while. Dut has stopped the slow thinning I was seeing on fin the last couple of years while also providing noticeable regrowth.

With fin it was weird cuz I was slightly thinning but also had some slight regrowth as well. I just switched cold turkey :manny:

There’s a breh on Reddit who just posted and he’s on dut, he’s got is waves back.

Yall got me over here like :jbhmm:

That Dut lookin like the real deal.

We all fina be Dut converts.

Dut arrives tomorrow.

Man I hope this works for me, if it does I’m defo gonna kick myself for not changing sooner.

I got realistic expectations though at same time.

hit the 12 month mark on 1/6/25, one side has been slower to grow fully in but I'm almost completely there. had my 1 year follow-up with my doc and she said the results are fine, I also haven't cut my normal hair no shorter than a 2.5" up top so naturally the new hair growth hasn't blended in yet with the pre-existing hair. I'm probably going to wait the full 18 months post-op to cut it lower to fully blend in.

for those posters a full year/18 months removed from your procedure, have ya'll continued taking min/fin once your hair was fully restored?

Typically recommended to continue, to help preserve non transplanted hair and improve transplant result.

Wouldn’t risk it personally unless for any reason you absolutely have to.

Started finasteride yesterday. I felt horny as fukk immediately and today my nipples tingling. How long this shyt usually last?
This is me since Dut last month.

Now it could be also that I’m in the process of tapering down off another med that’s known to impact libido.

Either way hope it continues lmao

So far no negative sides that I’ve noticed since being on Dut for just under a month.

I just hope the hairs come through.

Current stack
0.5mg Dut
2.5mg Oral Minoxidil
1.5mm Dermastamp
Keto shampoo

Where’s the absolute CHEAPEST a black man can get it done in America? I’m
Scared of planes and water

And if I have to travel out the country, do you still have to take fin and min? If the answer is yes, then why not just take fin n min and have it grow back that way instead of getting surgery ?

In terms of hair transplant, yes regardless of where you go America or abroad. It’s recommended you take a DHT blocker like Fin to protect non transplanted hair from further miniaturisation.

If you don’t you run the risk of further balding and needing further transplants.

Great you’ve got your hairline fixed but if you’re not taking something like Fin the non transplanted hair is gonna keep thinning.

And you only have a finite number of donor hair that can be used in a transplant. So you want to set yourself up for success rather than failure.

Minoxidil but can also be very helpful in regrowth and thickening your hair.
Because it extends the growth phase of the hair cycle.

As to why not just take Min and Fin instead of a transplant? It depends on how far gone you are, how aggressive your hairloss is and how your hair responds to the medication.

The sooner you intervene the better for the most part.
So if you catch it early you could make a complete comeback with Fin alone or with Min combined.

But if you’re balding is extensive then fin and min, might not give you the results you’re personally satisfied with.

There are exceptions to this rule of course on Reddit for example there are some great examples of those with extensive loss reversing their hair loss with meds.

Usually those are hyper responders but you don’t know until you try it…As everyone responds differently.

If you saw any results with fin then I think Dut will help.
Hopefully man.

Just under 2 months on Dut early days

Tbf I think in last year or 2 I’ve been a bit inconsistent with fin, which likely hasnt helped.

Was looking at my purchase history like damn there was a few gaps. As I normally bought 6 months at a time.
Unintentionally not refilling as soon as I could don’t even remember but hey it is what it is.

Let’s see what Dut does.

Only thing I’m a bit wary about when/if I’m actively trying for a baby.
Gonna need to be off that for at least 6 months to get it out my system compared to fin.
However don’t see that on the horizon at least for the next 2 years at least so cross that bridge when I come to it I guess

Yea that consistency is key. Hair cycles so long 6-12 months from what I remember so it takws a minute to accumulate what ever results you are destined for and if you skip you might be resetting some hairs to base line, after a while
